~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A police in a casual garb approached Aiba and Sho but couldn't help to notice their other company walking in circles, "Will Ninomiya-san be okay?"
"Don't worry about him officer, he's only...thinking and uh, panicking at the same time."
"Huh, I see. Don't push yourselves especially him. He's not fully healed yet. If you spot him, alert us right away." he replied, his eyes still on the small man and left.
Sho turned their attention to that lithe man, "Nino...could you please–"
"Why the hell did you call the authorities? I didn't ask for protection and besides, we're not even sure if they'd be here!"
"They'll be here Nino! My gut tells me that they will!"
"I agree with Aiba-kun here. No worries, we had them track Ikuta Toma's location so that we can also find them in case they don't come here."
"How long will that take?"
"Shouldn't take long I suppose."
"That won't convince me. J and Oh-chan may have left the country by now!"
Aiba waved his hand high giddily as if in a class, "Oooh! I got that covered while Sho-chan is busy with the local authorities! I have a friend who works on managing those stuff and he happened to track their flight…which is tonight. We'll make sure they don't go on it!"
He opened his mouth but nothing; if it's this duo they can do anything–mostly silly but this one's quite impressive. "Wow, this could be one of the best moment I am thankful for."
"No problem Nino!"
Satoshi...I'll get you back so hang on!
The three were too occupied on their own that they didn't notice a man watching over an unconscious body being carried to the emergency room.
–––––––––––––––––
"He will be okay right?" asked Jun as he put his gas mask down. He was disguised in a blond wig with a black cap for not being found out. He knows that there's a chance that Nino may had come for help with the police already so he might as well take precaution.
The nurse was the one who answered to represent the doctor currently examining Ohno, pushing him backwards, "You have to wait outside for a while sir, the doctor will tell you the results in a moment."
They were out of the room shortly, "You didn't answer my question, miss."
"As far as we can see sir, he had a head injury that wasn't attended to right away so that itself is bad news. Plus, he had serious bruises to various parts of his body. What happened to him? Did he get into a fight?"
"Y-yeah. B-but the beatings weren't--"
"Hm, that may be true. Still, a blow is a blow. He either didn't defend himself properly or perhaps his body have reached its limit. May I inquire the patient's name?"
"I..." he muttered. There's no way he can't tell them his name. I could use the character he played back then.
"It's Tarui Shotaro. Found him being beat up by some…yakuzas."
"Yakuzas huh. Good thing you stopped them in time. We'll get back to you about his condition soon."
As the nurse walked back to the said room, Jun sat on one of the chairs across the reception desk, fidgeting. He didn't expect to go this way! The blunt objects used last night weren't enough to bring him down easily! Was it because beforehand he was constantly beating Ohno up?
It wasn't his fault, he was resisting and what better way to shut him up?
He closed his eyes and audibly sighed. He was being carried away by his anger too much. Those bottled-up feelings that he had sealed had broken free at once that he didn't have the chance to control them. Or it could be that he did have control over them–only initially.
If he’ll die...
"Excuse me nurse..."
Jun opened his eyes again only to find 2 people in front of him, their backs facing his.
"Were there any patients being brought in this past hour?"
A feminine voice, "Why yes. Quite a number I should say. Are you looking for someone?"
"Um yeah, it's Ohno S–"
One of the two smacked the other's left shoulder, "Sssh…Not so loud Aiba-kun..."
"Oops sorry."
His eyes are wide open now, realizing that the two people are Aiba and Sho. He felt glad that he didn't mention Ohno's true name here yet they must get out of here ASAP. But if they were here, could it be that...Nino is here too?
When the duo finally left and out of hindsight, Jun approached the reception clerk as well, “Excuse me, is there by chance of a patient under your care named Ninomiya Kazunari?"
"Oh, hold on a moment," then after pressing some buttons to her computer, "Yes. Ninomiya Kazunari was confined in this hospital due to bullet wounds and other injuries, early morning."
He managed to make an act, "Oh I've been looking for him; he's my friend. Do you know what room he is in?"
"It was on the 2nd floor but they've been transferred to...the topmost floor. Room 417."
He muttered a thanks and used the stairs to get to their location.
It's time to pay him a final visit.
Once he was on the said floor, he took a look at the corridor behind a wall to see if any people are around: there weren't any. Jun was about to find the room when his target went out of one of the rooms. He quickly followed Nino, trying not to get caught. Luckily, Nino doesn't notice anything (could be from the wounds he deserved well) and continued walking until they arrived at the rooftop.
Jun took a hold of the firearm hidden at the back of his pants and slowly brought it out as he sneaked behind him. Nino gasp and reacted a second late when the younger twisted his hands and put him in a lock position. He placed the nozzle on the side of his head and almost whispered, "Time to die, Ninomiya Kazunari!"
Nino whispered back, "Not yet J, I won't let you get rid of me easily!"
And took that moment to pour his strength to throw an elbow punch to his abdomen in order to escape from his controlling hold and at the same time, to get the gun. Both individuals struggled to possess it, that the weapon went flying away from a distance. Without the gun in either of them, Jun used his combat skills towards Nino.
One, two, three punches more before kicking his side several times, including the bullet wounds that were healed previously that made the gamer scream in pain.
When he saw Nino unable to stand anymore, he scurried to the gun's locale and pointed it to his defenseless form with both hands.
Jun was on the verge of crying, "From now on, you will be nothing but a fading memory."
Before he can pull a trigger, a figure dashed out of nowhere to grab the gun from Jun.
"Ohno-san, let go!" he yelled, recognizing him in shock.
The older was still weak but not weak enough to release his hold, "I won't. Don't do this!"
"I have to, it's what I wanted to do from the start!"
"Please!"
"Stop it Ohno-san!"
Neither gave in thus the two continued to struggle.
Suddenly, a bang.
Ohno and Jun stared at each other.
The older smiled lightly before the former slowly knelt and fell sideward on the ground. Blood then oozed out from the shot which made the latter snap in panic, looking at his hands holding the gun shakily before tossing it away from his sight.
Jun...Kazu...I'm sorry.
Jun and Nino yelled his name in unison.
I wonder…Maybe it will be better if it's like this…
Ohno was trying to be conscious but wasn't able to as everything faded to black.
In time, Sho and Aiba, together with few policemen, rushed to the scene and brought the three back inside the hospital.
–––––––––––––––
3 weeks later:
Dead silence surrounded the isolated room as Nino and Jun stood before each other–merely separated by the glass wall built in between. Jun first took his seat and spoke through the hole in the glass.
"How is Satoshi?"
Nino couldn't help but cringe at him calling Ohno by the first name. He then took a seat replying with a poker face, "He's...fine."
It's been 3 weeks since he hasn't woke up so obviously he's not.
"What do you mean by 'fine'?"
Fine? I don't know if he is anymore.
"Fine is fine, J."
"Then how come he hasn't been with you? Or with Aiba-kun and Sakurai-san?"
I wish everyday for him to just...wake up.
But...he won't.
Jun mumbles Ohno's name repeatedly in a form of a tune.
And you, Jun. You're supposed to be the stronger one.
Why?
"Sa-to-shi... Sa-to-shi..."
"Stop singing and stop asking too many questions! I told you, he's fine!"
"Sir, please calm down or he might go berserk again."
In contrast to what the officer said, Jun only paused with a pout before singing again, only softer. He seemed calmer than a week ago.
Then, a woman in a white uniform walked near him. Nino presumed it must be time for him to take some medication. He didn't say any word as he watched him being escorted back to the door that leads to his isolation.
He heard Jun's somewhat jolly voice talking to the one assisting him, "Hey Mao-chan, Nino will come back tomorrow right? Do you think Satoshi will be with him? I want to see my Satoshi...then we can finally go to Paris…"
He turned away to not hear the rest. Jun should be charged with rape, attempted homicide and lots of things. But after the incident, his mentality went to another breakdown that caused his insanity.
His cellphone vibrated. He fished his phone from his left pocket and read the screen through watery eyes: It's Aiba calling.
"Yeah?"
"Nino! Riida...He's..."
Hearing just the first part of Aiba's statement made Nino's heart beat faster than usual.
"I'll be right there! Thanks Aiba!"
He woke up...he woke up...he woke up! Satoshi will be okay!
––––––––––
Nino almost felt like he was going to die out of exhaustion as soon as he arrived in front of Ohno's room, not bothering to use the elevator. This is the effect of him not actually moving much from playing games at home. No matter, he was that excited.
Nino combed his hair with his hands and fixed his clothing, trying to brush the crumples from his shirt. Then he pushed the door.
Inside were Aiba and Sho holding hands, giggling back at him as if they knew what he was doing outside before coming here and there he was...
His Friend. Family. Lover. Everything.
Tears are coming out of his eyes.
"Nino."
He ran and immediately encircled his arms around Ohno, "Oh-chan! You're awake!"
Ohno did the same thing and tangled his one hand through his hair, "Yeah I'm here. I'm sorry if I made you worry." He released himself from the embrace (much to Nino's disappointment) and his eyes roamed around his body, "Are you alright now? How were your wounds?"
The couple giggled louder at Nino's scarlet face. He covered his face shortly before answering with a sniff, "I was healed weeks ago, you idiot! You should look at yourself first!"
Darn it, his tears won't stop!
Ohno cupped his face with both of his hands and wiped his tears, "Stop crying okay? Didn't I tell you before? I won't go anywhere this time."
"It's just that I–"
The older smiled and gave Nino a sweet kiss.
"Can you stop now please? You've cried buckets for me already." pleaded Ohno with puppy eyes.
"Kiss me one more time?"
"We're right here you know!" The other couple disturbed, making them all laugh.
In the end, Ohno and Nino were left alone as the other two went outside to buy some food and buy them some time.
Nino didn't hold back and climbed beside Ohno on the bed and kissed him in which he gladly obliged.
The kiss was long, deep, passionate, longing, caring and loving.
Once they finally separated to grasp some air, they made themselves comfortable by fully lying down on the bed. Nino snuggled himself into Ohno's warmth whilst he caressed Nino from his hair to his lower back repeatedly.
"Hey Oh-chan?"
"Hmm?"
"About the–"
"We'll deal with those later. I need more sleep and so do you."
"I don't need it and I'm pretty much sure that you also don't."
Nino felt him shrug, "Cuddling it is then."
"I'll text Aiba to buy us tons of food. That'll give us...I mean...well, so that you can heal quickly and be better already."
Ohno chuckled at Nino's kind-of-cheezy behaviour (too bad he can't see it from their intimate position) and kissed the top of his head, "Whatever you say Kazu."
Few more weeks later when Ohno got out of the hospital– thanks to Sho's contant nagging on making him eat, Aiba series of outdoor adventure stories–making him realize that he misses fishing– and Nino's whining of wanting to sleep (whether it's the actual rest or something else) with him...without having to deal with back pains or skeptical looks of the nurses.
Subsequently, the rest were dealt with.
The authorities soon found Toma in a construction at Yokohama and was brought into question for being part of Jun's plan. He was released thereafter without charges because of Ohno's strong opinion about him being a good person. Whereabouts are unknown for the group who beat Ohno up; both can't recall much of their faces so they gave up on looking. Lastly, Jun, was still in the process of mental rehabilitation. At this time, chances of making him sane again are low. Nevertheless, Aiba or Sho would visit once a week to check on how he's doing. Nino haven't returned since Ohno woke up back at the hospital. On the other hand, Ohno was okay on a visit though he was quite unsure of what would the outcome be at first. Still, Nino and Ohno settled on visiting Jun.
When they have arrived, Ohno glanced at Nino as they walked through the hallway.
"You okay?" he queried, observing Nino biting his thumb’s nail in concentration.
“Yeah, I’m just worried. For the first 2 weeks, he was uncontrollable…kept looking for you.”
Ohno’s eyes casted downwards, “It must have been tough on Jun-kun.”
“Then, during my last visit, he was calmer and just bugged me on where were you and your condition.” They stopped in front of the room where Jun is already waiting inside, “You know what, maybe I should go in first Oh-chan. You can just see him through something else.”
The older only nodded, “Okay then. Try telling him… that he doesn’t have to worry. And oh, give him this.”
“What is it?” he asked, holding a medium-sized box wrapped in purple ribbon.
“It’s something I made for him before.”
Nino continued to scrutinize the item. Ohno held Nino’s hands gripping the said box.
“He has done a lot of things…that may not be forgiven so easily. But that doesn’t mean I have forgotten his good side.”
Nino sighed and went inside the room and the other went to the recording room.
Jun was already there, holding pictures of him and Ohno back in the day and dreamily gazing at them (Aiba must’ve given it to him). When Nino pulled a chair, the younger averted his eyes to him with a slight enthusiast, “Is Satoshi with you?”
He doesn’t want Jun to expect so he said with courage, “He’s not with me…and he’ll probably not come here but he said that you should not worry and I should give you this.”
Jun was looking behind Nino and all around the room then back at the item. He slowly grabbed it and pulled the ribbon. As he opened the cover, he pulled the content and stared at it and then…he cried and hugged the item.
“You…get well soon okay?”
Jun was still sobbing and even if Nino can’t hear it properly he knew there were words of ‘Thank you’ coming from his mouth endlessly.
When Nino bid his goodbye to Jun, Ohno was already outside waiting for him in a tree shade. As they walked home together, holding hands, the older simply answered in which Nino only hummed in response.
“Thank you Nino.”
––––––––––––––––
Epilogue:
Ohno was enjoying the sun hitting his face only to be blocked by Nino’s head.
He didn’t bother to open his eyes, “What is it Kazu?”
“Where’s your ring?”
“Ring? What ring?”
“The one that you should also have since you gave one to me. Don’t tell me you only bought one!”
The older opened his eyes and sat in front of Nino’s position, “N-no! I bought a pair! Toma-kun found it while he was cleaning Jun-kun’s house!”
Right brow raised. The sound of a foot being continuously tapped, “So? Where is it now?”
“I can’t remember where exactly I–”
“Ohno Satoshi, if you don’t find that ring I swear I’ll–“
Ohno pressed his right hand on Nino’s chest. As it settled on his fast-beating heart, the ring was already in his hand. Afterwards, a nose kiss.
“Will you look at that, it’s here.”
Nino blinked once, twice before finally laughing hard.
“What’s so funny?” he asked, wearing the silver band on his ring finger.
“I don’t know that a person can be a sap and a magician at the same time.”
“I learned from the best….so did I pass?”
Nino couldn’t help but grin, “Yeah, I guess so. I’m glad you remembered.”
“Even if I did forget them, I will always find a way to remember them.”
Both individuals smiled as they faced close to each other, shadows overlapping.
From now on, everything will be okay.
“I love you.”
A seal of kiss.
“Love you too.”
Author's Notes: Wow, how many weeks had it been since I updated? >.< RL is getting in the way, not to mention the hard rains (and floods) due to the monsoon. Sorry m(_ _)m This chapter is a bit short I think so bare with me; it's coming to an end, you see. I don't know on what chapter though. I'll think it through. Is anyone watching 24HR TV? I'm watching but Internet's slow so I may stop; I'm not watching Ohno-kun's drama either -- I want to watch it in a way I'll understand what they're saying but I'm tempted. I don't even have my shirt yet! I'll probably wait updates from the seller and also to my upcoming mags -- TVG+ (Ohno Satoshi cover), AnAn (Ohno for cover again XD) and Hanako (Arashi cover) ♥ As for Arafes '13, seems I won't be able to get the bag :(( Who knows where I can buy?
Enough of my ramblings, here you go! :)) As always, sorry for the mistakes you may find and I hope you enjoy reading~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Jun thought he would wake up to only find the side of his bed empty. But he felt extremely happy to see that Ohno did return to him, currently sleeping soundly with an angelic face. With that, he kissed the exposed chubby cheek and embraced him. However he felt his lips a bit moist after the action; was Ohno crying yesterday? Why? Where did he go? As he was about to generate theories in his mind, he heard him mumble.

"Nino."

The sun's rays reached the window sill towards an object momentarily blinding his eyes. As soon as he knew what it was, he grabbed the pendant and pulled it harshly, tossing to an unknown corner of their room.

It was better out of his sight. Especially to Ohno.
------------------------------
3 months later:

Ohno: Everything went back to normal. It's as if I was back to the person that I was, after that accident. I would always patiently wait for Jun at home every time he comes home from work and just... be with him (as if that wasn't obvious). Our talk were always interesting and fun to say the least but I can't help but be uncomfortable about one thing.

My necklace.
My ring.
And...there's...

I nurse the wound on my right arm. Never mind. Remembering it sickens me.

Going back to my ring, I wanted to ask him all this time but I'm afraid on what may happen next. I can't let him pull any crazy stunt against Nino again (and to the others).

His face covered with wounds flashed on my mind. It was saddening because it's my fault. That night was the last time I've seen and been with him. I miss him. Maybe I should hear him again today? Yeah, that would be soothing.

I went to the cabinet to reach the not-really-abandoned player in tiptoes. Then I listened to it on the couch. Just before the chorus, I can feel my eyelids getting heavy. I continued to hum the song in my sleep.

I woke up when I could feel someone poking my side.

"Oh, it's you. Welcome home."

"Why are you dozing off in the couch?"

"I was just--" I paused, trying to think of an excuse but nothing, "painting and I got exhausted."

Jun must not know about the tape. I always made sure it wouldn't be seen. I was caught off guard today. I was about to stealthily hide it from his watch but it was too late.

Shit.

"I didn't know you were listening to a song in such a genre, Ohno-san. Do you play this every day?" he said happily but poison seethed in his voice.

I held out my hand, motioning him to give it back, "That's just a song recommendation by a...tv show."

"Then you don't mind me listening to it."

"Jun, please."

"Fine, here."

I was about to grab it but he slide it from his grasp and looking down, I saw him step on the object.

I couldn't see my face but I know that it screamed horror.

I knelt down and picked the now broken tape (and the player too). I felt him ruffle my hair but I distanced myself. He produced a “tsk” sound, "After hearing that, I can say that it's a horrible song recommendation. Let’s just go buy a CD player and buy those songs by these five people called Arashi, they're very popular; songs are cool as well."

Three months had passed and I'm running out of sanity.

I take back what I said earlier.

It was worse than before. It felt like hell being here, every time he comes home, frustrated because of anything that would be reminded of Nino or when he's only sexually frustrated. The latter...

...

Unpleasant was an understatement, to be honest.

It was like the first time he had me, only it had felt too possessive. I wasn't sure if it was out of love or simply lust.

Flashback:
Jun was rummaging through Ohno's series of sketchbooks trying to find something.

"What are you doing Jun?"

The younger mumbled a question under his breath that he didn't quite get, "What?"

Jun wasn't looking at him and continued on as he answered him, "Where's that sketchbook?"

His sentence hit him like a lightning.

"It's not there anymore; you made me throw it in the trash 2 weeks ago right?"

"I checked the bin beforehand, it wasn't that sketchbook."

Ohno was about to say an excuse or anything to calm him down when Jun stopped and finally found what he hoped he wouldn't find with a smirk. Then, he pulled a lighter out of his polo's breast pocket and flicked it to produce fire, placing it near the paper material.

"Jun don't!"

Too late.

Orange flames spread rapidly through the sheets. Watching the ashes fall down, so were his tears; still, he tried to hold them back.

Once he finished burning the whole thing, he wiped the tears from Ohno's cheeks, "When you told me you'll get rid of everything, I believed that it'll be down to the last scrap."

The older looked down, unable to say anything -- not in guilt particularly but because he knew exactly where his actions are going.

"Try drawing him again and I swear... you won't be able use any of those," he warned next, looking at his brushes, pencils, canvases and markers.

Afterwards, Jun's lips crashed onto his, kissing him hard until they were swollen, then pushed his tongue to further enjoy the taste. Ohno wasn't responding as always and just took whatever he offers.

He has gone used to it but this time, he tried to retaliate; however, the action pissed Jun off. He pushed Ohno instead, accidentally landing on one of his homemade pots, wounding his right arm to the now broken pieces. The older whined in pain and stared at Jun in fear.

He never thought that he would be this violent, even to him.

Ohno stood and made his way out of the "art" room but Jun yanked him towards the bedroom (which is simply beside the former). He pushed Ohno to the bed and held him there so he won't escape--not even caring that he had just wounded him.

"I love you Ohno-san." he whispered as he hid his face in the crook of his neck after yet another lustful kiss, breathing heavily. Jun's hands crawled inside his shirt while he started kissing him again until Ohno felt them moved down to his nether region.

As Ohno tried to struggle free, a punch landed on his stomach, weakening him further, unable to escape.

"I want you so please..." Jun moaned over him. "Let's do it again..."

End of flashback

....

Ever since that day, I obeyed everything but there are still times when it becomes as such.

Was Jun always like that? I don't know anymore.

I could only push down the sob waiting to be released from my throat and simply pick the broken pieces of one of my treasures.

I'm an idiot for being reckless today.

"By the way," he suddenly added, acting like nothing happened (as expected), "I met Aiba-san earlier, he invited us for dinner tomorrow. It's Maru's birthday apparently."

Maru huh? I wonder if he's with Nino right now. That thought made my heart sink. But if he's taking care of him besides Sho-kun and Aiba-chan then it's fine...right? If he's happy, then these things happening to me aren't important.
------------------------------

Maru reserved a small but quite popular restaurant for his special day. He only invited his 6 fellow friends (who has been with him throughout the years), his seniors and juniors and of course, Nino, Aiba, Sho, Jun and Ohno.

Clanking of beer bottles and exhanging of greetings and wishes can be heard all over the place. It was all fun...or at least Maru wanted himself to convince that. The atmosphere between the five of his friends at the corner of the room felt a bit intense after Jun and Ohno arrived late, holding hands much to Nino's disappointment and probably something else. It's true he he had all the time in the world to make Nino forget about Ohno now that he's with Jun despite that they are nothing more than just friends. But...it's useless.

No one can replace Ohno.

And it pains him to see Nino in such a state. For sure, Jun is doing this intentionally to piss him off. Good thing they were in the far side of the restaurant.

Why did he even conspire with Jun before?

...

He scratched the back of his head; I wish they would be just like the old times, especially the three.

"Glad you can make it, Ohno-san, Matsumoto-san."

Ohno shook his hands and greeted him with a smile, "Otanjoubi Omedetou Maru!"

Jun did the same afterwards and gave a wine as a gift for the birthday celebrant.

"Thanks guys!" Maru then glanced quickly at Nino who gave an 'I-will-be-fine' look before excusing himself to attend to the other guests. "I'll leave you guys so go and help yourself with some food and drinks~"

As soon as Maru left, Aiba cut the awkward silence by pouring drinks to everyone whilst conversing about his moments at their family restaurant and work. Sho followed suit, then Nino and Jun. Ohno was listening and laughing, highly amused at their talk. Everything went out smoothly not until Jun started to slump his hand over Ohno's shoulder and kissed him on the cheek (which startled him a bit), then full on the lips looking at Nino smugly after.

So he was doing it on purpose, Nino thought, his teeth gritting in anger and of course, jealousy.

"Jun, stop it." the older whispered, pushing Jun away, feeling a bit bothered as he tried to lean again for the second time. He certainly didn't want Nino to see that. Not after 3 months of not seeing each other at all.

"Why should I? I'm your boyfriend. Aiba-kun has done it a few times to Sho-san before. And there are more embarrassing things we did than just a simple kiss on those pouty, soft lips of yours--"

"Jun!"

Nino suddenly stood. "I'll just...go to the men's room."

Ohno wanted to follow him but Maru beat him to it.

Jun asked innocently, "What's up with Nino?"

Aiba and Sho only shook their heads and continued eating.

Taking the last shot of his beer, Sho gave him a warning glare, "You know well Matsumoto-san that the kiss me and Aiba would share mostly are light pecks not...that kind of stunt you pulled just now."

"Relax Sho-san, it won't happen again. Let's go home, Ohno-san."

Ohno wasn't ready to leave yet, "But we haven't said goodbye to Maru yet--"

He snorted with a giggle, "I don't care. I'm sure he's busy with Nino right now."

"Jun-pon!" Aiba yelled, slamming his hands on the table. Sho calmed him down but that doesn't mean he's not angry at the words coming out of Jun's mouth.

The people stopped to see the source of the ruckus at first but immediately went back to normal, too busy to actually care.

Before Ohno could say anything, he has been dragged out of the restaurant without even properly bidding goodbye to his friends and is now pinned against a wall, with pair of lips attacking him fiercely.

Ohno pushed him away, "What the hell are you trying to achieve Jun? What you did back there...It's all stupid and childish!"

"I wanted them to know that you have officially moved on and Nino is nothing more but an acquaintance!"

He jabbed his finger to the younger, "You already made your point before! And I chose you! All these months, I was with you! I gave up a lot of things because of you! I endured so much!"

Jun swatted his hand away, "I don't believe you."

Ohno snapped, remembering the moment he opened his eyes to see Jun and uttering his "relationship" with him, "Well, you're the one who lied first!"

A big slap on the face. Startled by the action Jun inflicted on him, he stuttered his name apologetically.

"O-Ohno-san..."

Apparently, the slap wasn't painful.
"Don't worry, this is nothing compared to the punches and whatnot that you do to me. You know what, I've had it. I don't care what happens to you anymore."

And then, he stormed off.
------------------------------

Ohno met Maru halfway sweating profusely, "Ohno-san, I didn't catch nino. I thought that he's in the men's room but he's not there."

"What?"

Where would you go Kazu? He smacked himself; he knew exactly where Nino would go.

"I'll go find him. Tell Aiba-chan and Sho-kun I'll take care of him. I'll contact you if anything else happens. And one more thing..."

Maru was waiting Thank you."

Afterwards, Ohno ran to Nino's whereabouts. As expected, it's the park.

"Nino!"

He wiped something from his face (he knew well those were tears) before turning around, "Oh-chan...what are you--"

His heart melted at the sight of him right now, "Are you alright?"

"Y-yeah. How about you?" he asked back, tracing the red mark from the old man's right cheek.

"Don't mind me now. I'm glad I found you here."

"You will always find me here Oh-chan. I've always been here these past months since we've last seen each other..." Blushing at what he had just said, he shook his head and sighed, "You should go--"

Nino stopped his words when he felt Ohno's lips on his.

"I won't leave."

"But if you stay--"

"I know. But they don't matter. Not anymore. I'm sorry Nino if I left you like this. I am such a coward. I just don't want Jun to hurt you and made a decision in haste. I'm sorry."

"Thank you Oh-chan.." Nino said, smiling earnestly and kissed Ohno on the forehead; however, he missed teasing him as well so he added, "but it will take a lot before I can actually forgive you."

The last sentence made Ohno pout --that pout he missed so much, "You're lying. You can't resist me."

His smile grew wider, "That may be true but you're also not the only one who's stubborn."

"Touché, Kazu. touché."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jun had been with Ohno for 2 days after the accident. He still hasn't woken up. Although unexpectedly for the third day, he saw his left hand twitch before he opened his eyes, groaning a bit.
"Where...am I?"
"Thank goodness, Ohno-san!" the younger exclaimed then held his hand, his heart leaping in relief to see him finally awake.
The older blinked slowly, confusion reflected in those brown pools.
"Do I know you?"
The question itself made Jun understand what he needs to do.
"I'm Matsumoto Jun, your boyfriend."
----------------------------
It was already sundown when Aiba and Sho rushed to the nearest infirmary in Tokyo to fetch Nino after the gamer called Aiba. His good friend smacked him in the head lightly upon seeing him wrapped in bandages.
"Who the hell did this to you?" he whined, tears starting to form from his eyes.
He shrugged, "I fell?"
Sho answered, folding his arms, "As if we'd fall for that. We were told a couple of bystanders found you unconscious."
"It doesn't matter how I got this. Let's just go home--ouch! That hurt, you idiot!" he grunted as he received a smack from Aiba.
"You're the idiot! We can't help you if you don't tell us anything!"
"Aiba-kun's right. Though I'm having a bad feeling about this."
Nino sighed. "I don't want to spill it but you're damn right about it Sho-san."
Once they heard Ninomiya's words, silence consumed them momentarily before they headed out and took the cab to the couple's house.
When they all sat comfortably in the living room, Sho was the first one to speak, "So you mean it's...no way..."
"I also want to think that. I mean, he's Matsujun after all."
"But why would Jun-pon do this to you?"
"It's my fault Aiba-shi. I...provoked him."
-Flashback-
Nino's hunch was correct: someone was following him as he went to a convenience store to buy some ramen. Turning around to an alley, he was cornered by none other than Jun.
"What do you want J?"
"Nothing in particular, I've already got what I wanted from you."
Knowing the meaning of his words, he couldn't help but clench his fists in anger. He replied smugly, unleashing the 'brat' in him, "Who says that you do? The fact that you're talking to me right now proves you haven't actually...got what you wanted. And I won't let you!"
Losing the younger's composure, he punched Nino (he was caught off guard) and as soon as he fell down, he kicked his side and sat on top of him to land more punches continuously.
He yelled his anguish towards Nino as series of his joyful moments with Ohno after he had forgotten everything, "If Ohno hadn't met you...Everything would be okay for us... I was happy when I saw the opportunity of Ohno losing his memories in that accident. That's why...I made him "dead" to all of you. I even made it to the point that everyone will know him as 'Satoko'! "
It went on and on, until nothing was left from his strength.
"After this, I will make him forget again." he concluded, gritting his teeth.
As he removed himself from his supposed unconscious state, he heard Nino laugh in between coughs of blood.
"M-memories...aren't everything. When I met him as Satoko, his b-body r-remembered me. T-that's w-why...you won't win against me, Jun-kun."
"We'll see Nino."
-End of flashback-
Sho rubbed his temples (either in frustration or exhaustion, Nino thought) after he told the story, "I can't tolerate this. He had crossed the line this time. I'll call the police."
"No need. This is between me and Jun-kun. And he's still our friend."
"But--"
Sho was stopped when Aiba placed his hand over his shoulder with an expression 'you can't persuade him so let Nino be'.
"Call Sho-chan and me if you need help and please...no more hospitals. It's already bad that I'm there sometimes because of my health but you guys...it's harder."
"Alright then. But if he does this to you or maybe to Satoshi-kun, I'll be the one to drag him to the authorities, you hear?"
Nino could only respond with a long 'yes' before they let him rest to their guest room. Knowing Aiba being a supportive riend and Sho caring like a mother, he will continue this fight.
Oh-chan...
----------------------------
Truth be told, this wasn't what Sho wanted for the three, especially for Ohno. He surmised he was too pushy at him back then at the hospital. Or perhaps, if Ohno would push Nino away first, then it may end peacefully.
Looks like his calculations were wrong.
Should he talk again to him? But even so, at this time, would he be here at the same lake, fishing?
"You're really something Sho-kun." the older said, yawning after.
Good thing he's here. He and Ohno have been friends for a long time so he fully knows where he is when he wants to take a break or think over a lot of things. In this case, the river was a special place for him so there's no day he won't pass by this place.
"You always pass here. The water and the fishes calms you."
"You're right. But I think I won't be able to pass much after this." He stretched his arms before standing up from where he had just sat, Tell me Sho-kun, did something happen to Kazu?"
He wanted to say it but nothing was coming out. Ninomiya's words were consuming his conscience.
...he's still our friend...
"Satoshi-kun, I was wrong about what I said in the hospital. Maybe it's better if--"
Ohno hugged his friend instantly, tears flowing along his chubby cheeks, "So Jun did hurt him after all. I'm such... an idiot for believing too easily. I knew something wasn't right."
Sho responded back, patting his back gently, "Don't say that. I think it's those two who are idiots. They would usually fight over a lot of things way before, remember? especially you...but you know Matsumoto-kun overdid it this time around."
The older nodded and separated himself from him, "I know but I want to prevent Jun from doing such an action from now on. He's beginning to hurt those close to me."
"Do me a favor would you?"
"What is it?"
"Tell Nino to meet me at the park tonight. And don't tell that I knew what happened to him already, okay?"
It was Sho's turn to nod.
Maybe I can't meddle in, after all.
----------------------------
Nino's POV:
I guess I was early to wait here. I couldn't help myself; this is Oh-chan I'm finally meeting. For weeks ever since that night, there's no day I longed to see his face and just...stay with him.
"Have you been waiting long?"
I turn around to see him panting from running, with a worried look on his face.
"I'm sorry, I've fallen asleep too much and--"
Before he could even finish explaining, I hugged him tight.
As long as he's here, everything's fine.
Ohno separated quickly much to my dismay and I was about to protest but I stopped when he inspected the bandages wrapped on my wounds and bruises.
“You’re hurt everywhere. What happened to you?”
I held his wrist to place them back on his side because really, it doesn’t matter. “It’s nothing. I slipped and fell down the stairs.”
His worried expression isn’t wearing off despite my excuse (which is kind of lame), “You can’t have those with that accident.”
Teasing him could be the only way out of this topic, “Why? Have you experienced it before?”
“Well, not really.”
“See? Don’t worry, I’m alright. Ignore what you see. So…” I trailed off, feeling the heat creeping up on my cheeks, “What do we do tonight?”
“What else?” he asked back then pointed at the bicycles parked beside a tree.
So those bicycles were for me and him.
“Riding a bicycle at night?”
“Yes, I missed riding them with you. Come on, let’s go ride around.”
That’s right.
This park was precious for both of us. We were always here when we just wanted to watch the families going in and about, talk if there’s something to be said, just enjoy the company of each other and lastly, laughing and playing together whilst riding our bicycles. Sometimes, we would rent a 2-in-1 bicycle and I would prank him by not pedaling at all to which he would stop and make a pout. I would always kiss his lips every time he makes such a face.
It’s my first time to ride this at night and it feels better. The wind hitting my face is colder but it was soothing nonetheless. I glance at my left side and I see him looking at me as well, smiling.
It’s as if we’re trying to make…an escapade.
It was almost midnight when we finished and I sat at a bench. Ohno sits after with 2 canned coffees in his hand.
As he leaned his head back staring up in the night sky, I noticed a ring used like a pendant, sparkling outside his shirt. With that, I remembered the ring he gave me in which I have been wearing on my left finger ever since.
“I’m wearing it, you know.” I bragged with a low voice.
“I know. Besides your pretty face, I’m looking at that too.”
That caught me off guard.
“I won’t lose it. Ever.”
“Me too, Oh-chan.”
He stood, took a final gulp of his drink before throwing his can (and mine altogether) in the trash and offered a hand to me. “Let’s go. I’ll take you home.”
An hour has passed and we’ve arrived at my house. I didn’t open the door just yet and leave me like last time. I wanted him to return here; this is his home – our home. “Oh-chan, I…”
I stopped when I saw him crying. He wiped his tears with his bare hands, “Sorry, the tears came out all of a sudden. Jun doing this to you is the worst.”
How did he know? He can’t know! Unless…Sho!
I laughed, attempting to lie again, “I told you I slipped—“
“Stop lying! When you lie, it hurts.”
And when you cry, it hurts too. I thought to myself, holding my tears back but failed to do so.
“Don’t be a crybaby, Satoshi, Jun-kun and I just had a misunderstanding. It was my fault—“
“Forget me and I’ll forget about you…and everything we had together. If I don’t, I won’t be able to protect you.”
“N-no, I don’t want you to do that!” I shouted in desperation. I don’t want to be protected; and I don’t want him to be in a burden because of me.
“Nino!”
He approached me and traced the edges of my face with his fingers, “I don’t want you to get hurt; I don’t know what to do if Jun tries to do this to you again. There are also people getting involved and I can’t have that either.”
I was crying massively, “But the ring…”
He chuckled, drying my tears with light kisses that I always love, “Like I said, I won’t lose it. All of the memories will be there and I still have the tape as well, remember?”
I’m beginning to calm down with his actions, “You know, you can’t forget me right?”
“I suppose so.”
I thought he was going to leave me afterwards but he didn’t. From the light kisses I received, he fully kissed me next. Then I fumbled with my kiss and stumbled inside the house.
I know that when I would wake up tomorrow it will be just like the day he left me.
I don’t know if I can move forward at the thought of forgetting everything.
My memories of him are that much precious.
----------------------------
Jun checked the wall clock many times and was slowly losing his patience that Ohno wasn’t home yet. He said that he’ll go outside to fish and be back as soon as he can’t. Unfortunately, he’s not yet here. He dialed Toma’s number, “He’s not at home Toma! What am I going to do? He said that—”
“Don’t freak out Jun, he’ll be there I’m sure!”
His friend’s voice isn’t reassuring him, “And how do you know that? What if Nino’s doing something again?”
“I’m sure Ohno-san isn’t that kind of person. He told you that he’ll forget right? That everything would be back to the normal times?”
He did say that. If he didn’t do it, he’ll go as far as—
“Jun! Are you listening to me?”
“Ah no, what did you say?”
“I said you better take those frustrations to rest. He’ll be there when you wake up. If…he isn’t then I’ll help you find him”
“Thanks Toma-kun and sorry for the bother.”
Once Jun hanged up, Toma groaned at his cellphone.
Jun had gone through a lot. He saw all of it. Though everything changed when his friend told him about Ohno being in the hospital, unable to remember anything. The light in his eyes were back again.
I even made it as far as advising Ohno-san through the phone.
He closed his cell and threw it on the bed, following suit.
I won’t be able to stop him further if you don’t return to Jun, Ohno-san.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jun gets better and better as each day passes.

Ohno's words fulfilled him with energy, turning his appetite back to normal. He eats whatever the older has bought in hand until he feels his stomach is about to explode. It must be by his words of returning home.

Jun has won the game.

In less than 3 days, his doctor concluded in relief that he can be release from the hospital (Well that's what he felt anyway since he had been hardheaded in the duration of his stay here). Right now, he observes him packing their things as they head out. Later, Aiba and Sho come in bringing more food much to his delight and something akin to annoyance; Ohno demanded him yesterday to apologize regarding his behavior to the both of them. He was sorry but not to a full extent.

They were on Nino's side after all.

Ohno eyes him for a moment. Inwardly groaning, he faces the two and bows his head, "Sho-san, Aiba-san...Sorry."

The couple looked at each other for a minute, then Aiba spoke with a smile, "It's okay Jun-pon, no worries. We're happy that you're fine now." Sho also beams after.

Closing the bag with a zip, the oldest finally finishes packing, "Jun, I'll sign some papers at the counter. I'll meet you guys at the taxi station in front."

As he heads out, Sho catches him, "I'll go with you Satoshi-kun!" leaving the two in the room.

He closes the door behind them,  "So..."

Ohno shrugs with a sigh, facing him with a chortle, "You know what it is and see? Jun's better now."

"What happens next?"

He goes to the counter and receives the necessary papers for signing, "I don't know. Back to the old days I guess. Don't worry, I told Nino."

Sho bids to continue his statement, "In his sleep."

He gives the papers back and goes near Sho whispering in disbelief, "How did you know?"

"He...called me...and wanted to give you this."

He hands over a cassette tape from his backpocket to Ohno, in which the oldest willingly accepts, "If you have a tape recorder at home, play it...and if there's anything you need, don't hesitate to call us." He steps back and heads off, I'll catch up with the two. Jun-kun might suspect something. See you outside!"

Ohno is about to ask Nino's condition but it's a little too late.He holds the tape and puts it inside his bag; whatever it is, he mustn't let Jun find out about it.

-------------------------------

"Have you given it to him?" Nino asks, looking to Aiba initially, Sho next.

Aiba gives a peace sign at him, "Sho-chan actually succeeded and Jun-pon didn't suspect a thing!"

"I don't know. When I came back he was looking at me differently." Sho jabs a finger to his lover's chest,  "Did you say anything stupid again?"

He grabs his hand and slaps it, "Hey, that's mean! We had a lively conversation about work; it's weird at first really, like his "tantrums" didn't happen. You could say he is alright...now that Ohno-kun is with him." he finalizes whilst bringing Sho's hand down gently, sadness overcoming him and pity for Nino too.

Nino grimaces, "Great. Thanks."

"What's in there?"

"You don't need to know. It's only between us."

The three of them are inside a bar ordinarily drinking like they always do, only the youngest gets series of shots more than the rest of them, making Aiba worry, "Are you sure you're okay?"

He swirls the little amount of alcohol in his glass, "Hmm...no."

"Eh!?"

"Didn't you hear me? I said I'm not okay."

"Then letting yourself get wasted like this isn't right! There are other ways of moving--"

"Who says I am? I'm the selfish brat here." he emphasizes, then drinks the liquid, warmth spreading in his throat and throughout his body.

I can't, no, I won't give up. I won't let Satoshi be gone from my life again.

Sho takes a shot as well, "So what are you planning? You can't force Ohno to go with you or convince Jun to let him go."

Nino mentally rolls his eyes for stating the obvious, "I'm not doing that...I just...I don't know what to do really but I still want to be with Satoshi even if he tells me not to."

"I'm sure there will be a way. You're connected anyway." Aiba chimes in.

Nino grins but he's grateful for his bestfriend's optimism, "Too cheesy, Aiba-shi."

Giving him that tape is a start.

-------------------------------

"We're home!" Jun excitedly yells throughout the abandoned space then looks at Ohno who gives a rather weak beam.

"Yes we are."

"Is there something wrong?"

Ohno drops the bags at a corner and stretches, "Nothing, just tired. Hospitals have this power of draining you, to be honest. It must be the dull atmosphere."

Jun hugs him from the back, feeling his chin resting against his shoulder, "Satoshi--"

His words are put to a halt when the older separates himself, heading to the bedroom. "We can deal with the unpacking and some stuff tomorrow. Today is a long day, Good night."

Jun stares at his retreating figure in worry and also in suspicion: Something is bothering him.

Ohno takes the shower quickly and climbs to the bed wearing matching shirt and sweatpants. It was indeed a long day or maybe...a long week. So many things had happened after he got his memories back. But with that, there are some gaps missing. He feels Jun sliding behind him and does the usual embrace. He can't help himself but to be stiff at first though in the end, he just let him (sleep had quickly consumed him anyway).

The man behind him smiles, inhaling his scent as he closes his eyes.
He's just tired, Jun. Satoshi will definitely be back to his normal self tomorrow.

Ohno wakes up late on an empty bed the next day. Groggily, he makes his way to the kitchen, only to find Jun's note stating he'll be going out to get his job back and will arrive before dinner, with some pre-heated foods beside it. After eating what he presumes to be brunch already, he grabs his bag and gets the cassette tape. Fortunately, he spotted Jun's old player on top of the bookshelf last night -- now, if only they still work. Storing the required number of batteries (he used the ones from a flashlight), he puts the tape inside while breathing steadily, afraid of what would be the outcome. Seeing the tape turning normally, he whispers his thanks. He installs a headphone to hear the sound in full concentration, then he listens.

To Ohno-san... Man, I can't believe I'm doing this at this time of hour; you owe me big time!

A pause.

I was awake when you told me that sappy confession -- probably the sappiest out of all those things I heard from you. However, you really are an idiot!

His voice shakes as he yells, his eardrums ready to break at any time but he endured it.

You said you wouldn't leave me again right? You gave me a ring saying we will be together in another time? That you would be cheering me on? Bullshit! If you think you made me suffer for 3 years then guess what, it's true! And that... will continue for the rest of my life. But this time, I won't blame only you for going your own way, rather, I would also blame myself for selflessly letting you go in that direction.

He sniffs and his voice becomes steady again.

If I can do whatever I want then here's what I'm going to do. I will make sure that we will be together. Not in another time, but at this time. I can be arrogant whenever I wanted to, you know that well. I won't give you up without a fight!

Another pause, then a series of slow breathing, and he hears a wooden sound.

Sorry Oh-chan, I just wanted to let those out to you and there'll be more once I succeed. For now, hear another song I've written a month ago. I was supposed to sing this at our anniversary but you know...with all the accident. Frankly, I planned on singing this to Satoko as well. I'm glad that it was still you I am composing and singing for.

Several plucks, some strumming and then the next thing he knew, he is crying as he hears Nino singing a new song.

Sato-pi, I won't give up. Leave everything to me!

The tape stops playing. He reclines on the couch, his sadness turning into happiness. As expected of the talkative straight-forward brat Kazunari. Even if he thinks it's useless, a tiny spark of hope stirs inside of him. He rewinds the tape before the start of the song and plays it again, setting it like an endless loop. For the rest of the day, he manages to survive.

In the end, I'm the one who's lonely without you, Kazu.

----------------------

"Nino!" he yells, waving from the reserved table.
“Hey Maru!”
Nino trudges over, hanging his coat on the chair before taking a seat, "How are you this past week?"

He gives a sign from the waiter at the counter, then replies, "Good, just got back from my overseas trip to meet some of the clients."

Two bowls of ramen are placed on the table, "Eh? I though you invited me over for a tea but is this okay?"

Maru separates his chopsticks, ready to eat, "It's fine, I owe your hospitality last month for inviting me into your house." After eating for a while, he asks, “So...is it true?"

The gamer replies bluntly, "Yeah, Ohno-san's alive --keeping him under Jun's care for almost 3 years since he got amnesia before-- and due to "events", he's with Jun at this instant even if he remembers everything a week ago."

He gazes on his reflection from the tea, "I see. He's willing to do so much for him huh? Too bad I can't do the same overactive persuasion to you."

Nino finally finishes his ramen, "That talk again? Geez Maru, I said--wait, what do you exactly mean by that last remark?"

Surprised, Maru begins to avert his eyes away from him in guilt, speaking softly, "You see, Jun came to me before and asked me to...hang out with you more."

Nino leans back -- almost too much -- taken aback by the sudden disclosure, "He did what!? And you didn't tell me because...?"

"I was scared of the possible outcomes! I also liked you beforehand…And...I don't want you to get mad at me either."

Nino goes sarcastic, "Wow Maru, how do you think I feel now?" Then, he sighs, "But come to think of it, I'm still the idiot here. If I was more aware back then, all of these wouldn't happen."

Maru drinks his tea, "I kinda blame Jun though. He was too focused on Ohno-san ever since."

The other does reflection soon after, casually adding his lover to the list, "There's Oh-chan too for being the passive guy."

The two men laugh with Nino presuming, "We are all idiots."

Three idiots with conflicting emotions to one another.

“So? How did it go?”

Maru fidgets his fingers before stopping, “I don’t think this is going to work Matsumoto-san. I admire him, but I don’t think he’ll actually return my feelings or anything…And I’m okay with us being friends–”

“I’m sure he will. Just a little bit more.”

He looks at him in furrow, “What are you planning to do, actually?” Jun takes a sip of coffee, “That’s not of your concern. You like Nino, right?”
The man simply nods.

He stands, putting his cap on. “Then that should be enough.”

Seeing Jun’s figure leaving the café with awareness, Maru bends his head, wondering Jun’s aim. Why did he accept his help of getting Nino to like him? Is it out of their friendship? Or was there something else?
Someone?

Suddenly, he stood in realization.

Ohno-san?

----------------------------------------

Three days have passed ever since Ohno and Nino visited Jun. Ohno decided to not see the younger and let Aiba or Sho go to their stead.
Ohno sits beside Nino to join him in playing his Xbox. As always, he beats him to every game. After countless hours, Nino rests his head on Ohno’s lap in exhaustion…or maybe just out of affection. Nino snorts: the latter is definitely the reason.

“Nino?” he asks, combing his hair.

 “Hmm?”

“While I was gone…what happened all these years?”

Nino snuggles closer, enjoying his boyfriend's ministration, “Like I said before, nothing really has changed. Sho-kun and Aiba-chan are still together. The carnival we always go to is as lively as ever. The cream puffs are puffy and delicious. You know them even if you were still Satoko that time."

After a light laugh from Ohno, Nino continues to enumerate, "I’m still working my butt off at that game company. My finished games are piling up. Aiba cooks for me sometimes; eventually, Sho-kun joins in. And I’m going out for drinks with Nishikido often…what else?”

“How about Maru?”

Nino presses his lips in a firm line. He's grateful that Ohno can't see much of his face as he's facing sideways and he continuously plays with his hair.

Maru was there to console him besides Nishikido, Sho and Aiba when Ohno "died". He had few friends, that's true, but they were true, great friends. He knew about Maru's true feelings based from his advances. There was this one time (he and Ohno weren't officially 'together' yet) that he confessed but of course, he declined them because of Ohno. However, their relationship as friends is maintained and Maru accepted that, even until now.

"He's cool. We would still hang out every now and then."

Ohno can feel the jealousy rising within him. It's the same feeling he had when he saw them before: Nino enjoying the company with another person when that day was supposed to be theirs– to think that he shouldn't actually mind about these kinds of events. Jun had warned him about Nino and Maru once. He ignored it at first as he's friends with Maru as well. However, it didn't go well at that particular day; Jun was right. That was what he said to the younger on the phone a few minutes before the accident.

Nevertheless, he concluded that he was wrong, getting all worked up without even hearing Nino's explanation. Maybe if he listened on that day -like a good listener that he is- it wouldn't turn out as to what is happening today. On the other hand, if he were to be dead, Maru would probably the fitting choice for the person who can be by his side.

Ohno starts to touch Nino's back in a random pattern, "I see. That's good isn't it? There were people who were taking care of you. If I did die, I know that you won't be lonely."

"Stop saying those things Oh-chan!" Nino gulps with a strained voice, "I...I would be lost without you. So please...don't say those things. It's like you're leaving me again."

Nino positions himself by sitting up so that he can face him and cups his face with both of his hands, "I love you, Satoshi. No one else. Forget all those unnecessary things and just..." he trails off, letting his forehead touch against his.

Ohno closes his eyes shortly then opens them, "I'm sorry...for everything."

Nino shakes his head then looks at him with those loving eyes.

Ohno catches his lips, "I love you too, Kazu."

As their kiss becomes passionate, he thinks that it's about time to give him the promise of 'forever'.
The ring is ready as is ever going to be.

                                                                                  ---------------------------------------
"Jun-pon, please eat something. You haven't eaten much, so please."

Silence.

Aiba scratches his head; Sho was the first one to surrender to his stubbornness but he doesn't give up, even if he's also beginning to lose his patience.

"Ohno-kun won't return here for a while."

Jun stares at the window blankly.

"If he sees you like this--"

"That's enough reason for him to come back to me. He promised. He won't leave me."

"You were not like this before."

"You're oblivious about it Aiba-san."

It was like love at first sight. We became friends and I began to fall for him as I got to know him better. I thought that he feels the same way. Not until I learned that he likes someone else.

Aiba sits on his side, "Why did you hide Ohno-kun to all of us? To the point that you let him cross-dress as a girl named Satoko?"
Jun mentally rolls his eyes and then looks at him, "You should seriously know that by now. I lo--"

"I know that. It's just that...why would you go that far?"

"He was mine first. I'm simply taking it back by any means."

He grabs the younger by the shoulder, "This is insane. This is--"

Jun pushes his hands away, "Call it whatever you like. If he doesn't return to me, then I..."

"You will be fine Jun-pon so I beg of you, don't do this to yourself. You're my friend."

"Friends help each other right? If that's the case, you know how to help me."

"I can't do that."

Jun sighs, "I figured you won't; you and Nino were buddies since childhood."

Aiba stands, stomping his feet in frustration, "That's not the reason. Ohno-kun and Ninomiya-kun love each other and me, you and Sho-chan knew that!"
He points at Jun to emphasize his words, "Accept it!"

The patient takes it all calmly and goes back on looking out the window. The silence gradually recurs.

Aiba walks out of the room to "get some fresh air".

He has little patience lingering; unfortunately, it won't apply to Jun anymore.

Dialing known numbers on his cellphone, he calls Sho, "Sho-chan, it's me. Talk to Ohno-kun, if this goes on, I don't know if I can take another friend leaving us and..." he bit his lip, “it may mean for good.”

----------------------------------------

It was already midday when Sho arrived near an unknown lake where Ohno had finished catching some fishes. Nino has work today and is seasick, so it's a good way to spend time alone through his favorite hobby besides drawing, painting or sculpting.

Nino may scold him for getting under the sun for a long time but he is sure he can make that bratty face turn into an adorable one.

"Would you like to catch some fish Sho-kun?" he says happily, gesturing his fishing rod to him (he didn't bring a spare and Sho's 'visit' came unexpectedly).

"It's alright Satoshi-kun, you can hog all the fishes if you want."

"If you say so. Anyway, what do you want to talk about?"

He sits beside him and speaks matter-o-factly, "It's Matsumoto-san."

Ohno looks back in scorn, "Just a few more days and I'll--"

"Satoshi-kun. He won't eat anything. No matter what we do to get him to understand or at least make him eat...they're all useless."

"Why don't you let the nurses take over? He'll comply right?"

"We tried that once but most of them are scared. His aura sets them off every check-up. Thankfully, his medicines kept him going...though not for long."

Ohno nodded and moved his arms to try another spot to catch a fish.

"If we don't do something--"

He cuts him, ignoring Sho’s panicking tone, "I want to give Nino something precious ever since I fell in love with him. Now's the perfect time if you think about it. "

Sho averts his eyes to the whirring noise he hears from the reel, meaning that he had caught something. The older didn't waste time to struggle with all his might to pull until in a few seconds, a big salmon was caught.

"Or so I thought. I have to leave Nino ne?"

So he did think about this. Of course, he doesn't want Ohno and Nino to separate but truthfully, it felt like it was the only way out-- all for the sake of Jun's safety. Sho stood brushing the dirt on his pants coming up with another way (but he knew it won’t work), "You don't have to. What I'm saying is just go there and tell him to eat and to let go of you. You can still be friends."

"I've thought of that but you know how Jun can be stubborn like Nino. And I'm not dense when he told me he loves me-- he'll take it hard if I told him that. In addition, I owe him a lot of things. It's because of me that he's like this."

He puts the fish on the container filled with other fishes he had caught earlier. Carrying the said container and slinging the fishing rod on his shoulder, he pats Sho on the back.

"I want to think this through, alone. In the meantime, please be there for Jun."

Sho sighs, nodding before walking away from him.
Why does this have to be so complicated?
--------------------------------------------
When Nino arrived at their house early evening, it was dark. Isn’t Satoshi here yet?

Placing his keys noisily on top of the table, he hears a switch being flicked. As the whole room lightens up, he sees Ohno in his usual clothes and their dining table filled with mouth-watering food.

“Date at home, Oh-chan? Really?”

“Is there something wrong about it?”

Nino walks towards him, wraps his hands around his waist and pecks him on the cheek, “Nothing. That was sneaky and sweet of you.”

“I’m glad that you like it. But you’ll like it better if you try to taste the food I prepared. I’ve caught them earlier.”

“I’m sure they’re not that bad as before.”

Ohno pouts and lead his figure over a chair so that they can start their date after almost 3 years.

Or at least his first and final date after almost 2 years.

Few hours later:

After their delightful dinner (with slight drinking, talking about a lot of things, then coming to a pleasant halt with serenity mixed to it), they sat together in front of Nino’s grand piano.

Ohno plays the intro tune of Nino’s well-composed song making Nino giggle in amusement and without further ado, started to play the actual song whilst singing it. Ohno joins in as well and their voice just blended together in its own refinement until the very end.

The older flipped over the music sheets, skimming over the lyrics one more time, “I love this song, the most. The one you composed before was quite naughty somehow.”

The gamer simply looks back grinning, “Ah, the ‘Gimmick Game’? That wasn’t naughty, you’re thinking differently.”

Another laugh and he brought the sheets back to its place on the piano. He hears his lover yawn.

“Should we go to bed Kazu?”

Nino moves his head on his shoulders, “It’s too early, Oh-chan. How about playing some games?”

He touches his exposed temple gently, “You’re tired… it’s better for you to rest.”

“Fine but on one condition: cuddle me. Your body is warm, after all.”

“Always.”
--------------------------------------
Ohno’s phone was vibrating for quite some time.

Under the moonlight, Nino was sleeping soundly this time. If only he could do the same thing. It’s the middle of the night yet he has to go.
It’s time.

But before he leaves, he kneels down beside their bed, takes Nino’s free hand and as he gazes at his face, how he wishes he can see this.
He rarely gives a confession like what he is about to do now.

“I wanted to be beside Kazu, every single day of my life. You suffered a lot for three years because of me right? And right now, I may be doing it over again. I want you to be happy so do whatever you want even if I’m not with you, okay? I’ll still be there for you, cheering you on.”

Nino twitches his nose, and then resumed his sleep. Ohno plays with his endearing, stubby fingers, pausing at the ring finger. He gets something from his inner pocket and inserted it to the said finger.

“That’s my promise. Hold onto this and never lose it. Perhaps, one day, we’ll be together in another time. Thank you for everything and I’m sorry for this. Goodbye and…” He kissed his lips and let it linger for a moment until he steps away, tears falling down to Nino’s hands.

“I love you.”

He didn’t know that Nino was awake the entire time, holding back his feelings overwhelming him as he witnesses Ohno’s retreating form, clutching the ring he’s wearing right then.
------------------------------------
Ohno ran as fast as he can at the hallways of the hospital, almost scampering to his feet to find Jun’s room. Going in, he saw Jun surrounded by nurses, his vital signs becoming unstable.

“Ohno-san, please step back.”

The tanned man complied and watched them to treat the younger as they can. He knows Jun won’t die from this.

I’m already here so I'm begging you…don’t…

As anxiety almost crawls all over his body, he hears a continuous, steady beat from the heart monitor. He hears the nurses calming down until one of them approached him with a beam saying that the patient is alright.

As all of them left, he goes to sit beside Jun’s bedstead. Several minutes later, Jun finally opens his eyes, only weakly. Another complication and he may really die.

“Oh-Ohno-san? Is that really you?”

“You only had a nervous breakdown and you made it worse in span of days. Just what are you doing?” Ohno says, anger resonating from his question.

Jun smiles a little, “I’m glad you’re here.”

The older wipes his tears with his arm, “Continue to rest, get better from now on.”

“If I get better, we’ll go back to Nishi-ku?”

Ohno pauses then nods, “Yes, we’ll go home.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Outside the front door, he waits.
Or maybe he wants to enter at the right timing.
Either way, his feet won't move.
It has been like this in a couple of hours and his feelings didn't change.
He couldn't believe that behind those doors is where his Satoshi resides.
A chill passes through him. Fuck this. He doesn't care about Jun, he needs to get what is his.
The door suddenly opens.
Stepping out, the figure appears in front of him. Then, he hears his name being called out.
How he loved that voice so much.
And it's not just that.
That stature.
Those chubby cheeks he always loved to pinch.
Those long, slender hands he had longed to hold.
Those brown pools where he is always reflected.
Those soft lips he would forever net get tired of kissing.
To think that all this time, he had actually done them again because of 'Satoko'. Fate wasn't cruel after all.
Without wasting any time, he went towards Ohno and just hugged him tight. This is not a mere dream anymore. It really is him!
He poured various emotions through his tears, uncontrollably. And Ohno had let him, hugging him back, simply caressing his hair. So, he just held him. No more, no less.
"You're not going to leave me, are you?"
Ohno released him and let one of his hands grab a hold of his, facing the younger.
"Jun, I..."
Before he can continue, Nino swiftly punched Jun. It was now his turn to do it. He yelled in anger, "Why Jun?? How could you do this!? What did I do to you, huh!?"
Ohno pulled him away from the now fallen figure "Nino, stop--"
"That punch is not enough for what you did!"
Jun spits from the side and wiped the excess blood with his hand then stood, his eyes looking at Ohno, trying to calm Nino down.
"Satoshi, let's go back." he pleaded, completely ignoring all the gamer's questions, heading his right hand out to him.
The older froze in scrutiny. Frankly, he was ready to leave Jun hours ago. He loves Jun and that's a fact; however, that was before he got his memories back. Even worse, he lied to him. These were enough reasons to get him to arrive at that conclusion.
It pains him to leave Jun after all the things he had done for him.
Still, he must do this.
Ohno went to Jun and held his hands, feeling its coldness -- perhaps from fear, "Jun, I remember now. Nino...he needs me. And...I need him too."
"Please don't say those words. You promised right?"
"Yes, but it was Ohno Satoshi, who had lost his memories and lived under the disguise of 'Satoko', that made that promise. I'm so, so sorry Jun."
He slipped his hands away from Jun's grasp but he didn't budge to let them go. Ohno forcefully tried to get away but to no avail, not until Nino pulled him harshly away from the man. Then, the couple walked away, with Ohno taking another glance at Jun before finally leaving for good.
Jun simply screamed and cried, pulling his hair and kicking the dirt on the ground in anguish many times.
He'll get Ohno back, by all means.
------------------------------
Ninomiya and Ohno were silent as they travel back to Tokyo. Nevertheless, their hands are intertwined. Soon enough, they were at Nino's house-- er, their house.
He gazed at the tanned man happily, "Welcome back, Satoshi."
The other gazed back, joyful as him, "I'm home, Kazu."
Going inside, Ohno walked along the vast spaces of the house. It's as if he wasn't gone after all these years. His paintings were still there hanging pleasantly. The cups, plates and other utensils were set in pairs. His fishing rod was positioned neatly on the rack, together with its lures. Unexpectedly, they weren't dusty. Lastly, photos of him and Nino were splayed on top of a small table; several were displayed in frames on top of Nino's grand piano.
"It's like I haven't left."
"That's because you didn't. Not ever."
He closed Ohno again for a loving embrace and whispered, "I'm sorry. If only I..."
"Didn't I tell you before that it's okay? Even if I haven't remembered it that time,” he countered, ending with a chuckle.
"But Sato--"
Ohno wiped series of tears flowing down his cheeks. Crying is tiring and it hurts to see him in such a state. "Enough. It's all good now. Want to go to sleep?"
"I'd love that."
Nino pressed his lips on Ohno's forehead, his cheeks -- left and right -- and then to his lips.
"I missed you so much."
"I missed you too."
They stumbled on the bed whispering sweet nothings, touching, holding each other as if they’re afraid to get separated again. With bodies intertwined with one another, content, sleep gradually consumed them.
-----------------------------------
Nino opened his eyes as one of the sun’s rays strikes him. He finds his hands tangled lovingly with another pair. He can’t help but smile widely. He sees his lover’s nose wrinkle a bit then resumes his slumber.
He traces the outline of his face. Subsequently, he smells his scent in one, deep whiff. Finally, he scoots closer to his form, presses his forehead to his and kisses his nose.
Another wrinkle but instead of sleeping some more, Ohno opened his eyes gradually.
“Sorry if I woke you up.”
He yawned before answering, “You’re up early.”
Nino shrugged and let his chubby fingers play with his slender ones, “I just feel like waking up first.”
“Why?”
“I wanted to be sure that I’m not dreaming like I always do.”
“Dreaming? Of what?”
“You, of course! Who else, idiot?” he retorted as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, blushing.
Ohno chuckled, “Then I’ll confirm it to you: this is not a dream, okay? I’m here now.”
He nodded and snuggled to his side.
“We should call Sho-chan and aiba-chan. They must be worried.”
Nino let his breath cross Ohno’s neck sending chills to his spine as he whispered beneath him, “Yeah, but let’s stay like this for a while.”
“Alright.”
-------------------------------------
It was already mid-afternoon when Nino called Aiba and Sho over their house to have a proper “discussion” and maybe at the same time, a reunion.
They gathered around the couch, the pair facing each other. Aiba and Sho practically have their mouths gaping as they see Ohno across them. He was silent as usual but there was a gleam in his eyes screaming how he missed the two so much.
The sleepy man didn’t waste any time and initiated the conversation, “Um…”
Nothing. It’s as if his voice was taken away.
Before trying to find the right words, Aiba pounced on him in tears, “Ohno-kun! What happened to you all these years? We missed you! I--We thought you were dead!”
Sho let out a sigh of relief and smiled as well, holding his tears.
"Aiba's right, Satoshi-kun. We thought you were dead."
Aiba releases his hold and let them both sit on the floor. He stares at Ohno as he asks on what he and Sho were pondering about ever since they heard Ohno being "alive", "Ne, what happened that time?"
"Frankly, I don't want to tell the other details," he answers, avoiding Nino's gaze for a bit, "All I remember was that I was driving so fast in frustration and it just so happens that I lost control of the car. After the car toppled several times, I ended bumping to some hard object and blacked out. The next thing I knew, Jun was beside me and the rest was history."
Sho leans his back on the sofa, "So Matsumoto-san used your amnesia just so he..."
"Well yeah." Nino remarked, not letting him finish his statement.
Aiba looked at his friend, frowning, "That doesn't mean you have to punch Jun-pon, Nino!"
The gamer smacks him in the head, "Shut up, he deserves that punch!"
Sho crossed his arms in wonder, "How come we never know that Matsumoto-san has...'feelings' for you Ohno-kun?" He never expected Jun’s doing this out of…what’s the right term?
Love? Or is it infatuation?
"I always think that he really likes Ohno-kun, Sho-chan. But this guy's always oblivious when it comes to it. And we have a jealous Nino around." He said, nudging the tanned man.
Nino stood grabbing his Nintendo DS to play, "Damn straight."
"Jun's very important to me. Maybe I should go and have a talk with Jun-kun–”
The younger didn't bother to look up from his console, "I knew you were going to say, so no. It's better not get involve with him any further--"
Aiba suddenly cut in, "Isn't that a bit harsh?"
He closed his DS, "He lied to us! He lied to you, you and me! He took Satoshi away from me! You both saw how I struggled ever since he was gone…or so I thought! Moreover, he lied to you the most, Oh-chan."
Ohno, together with the two, bowed their heads unable to say more. Nino was right, after all.
Still, he doesn't want it to be like this. If only Jun can realize that...
Nino’s cellphone vibrates.
“Hello?”
“Is this Ohno Satoshi-san?”
Nino scowled, “Uh, no. This is his boyfriend speaking, who’s this?”
The other line spoke in a vigilant tone, “I am a nurse from the Yokohamadaiichi Hospital in Nishi ward, the patient who just came in have this number displayed on his phone, muttering a name Ohno Satoshi.”
He inquired the nurse, making the other three curious, “Why is Jun in the hospital? What happened?”
They gasp in surprise.
“The doctors are checking on him right now.”
Nino quickly put on his shoes and a jacket, the phone placed in between his right ear and right shoulder while the rest followed suit, “Alright, thanks for the info. We’ll be right there.”
-----------------------------------------------
Arriving at the hospital after a couple of hours, the four saw Jun unconscious on the bed, with IVs injected on him. The doctor had just finished checking his vital sign then proceeded to talk with them.
“Jun!” Ohno called, walking near Jun’s side.
“Bystanders seem to have brought him here. They found him lifeless at a park. From what we’ve learned as we took him in, the patient had a nervous breakdown. He hadn’t eaten anything for the past 24 hours and not enabling his body to function properly; his mind also went down with it due to distraught.”
Sho bobbed thoughtfully, “I see. When do you think he’ll be okay?”
“That depends on him, actually. Although most of the patients with such case may last 1-2 weeks in the hospital. Let’s hope that it’ll be shorter.”
 “Thank you, doctor.” Nino spoke, bowing his head together with three.
Nino looked over Jun’s appearance. He had deep eye bags and his lips are paler than normal and…he just looked pitiful.
Nonetheless, should he feel sorry about this?
He may as well use this ‘illness’ as a motive to let Ohno stay by his side and to not leave him ever.
----------------------------------------
The next day, Jun managed woke up with glee as he saw Ohno approached him with a bowl of soup in order to feed him as the younger was still weak.
As he finished feeding Jun, he just watched him with dreamy eyes until he voiced out, “After you get better, Sho-kun, Aiba-kun and I will take you home, okay?”
Jun’s smile disappeared, “And then what? Will you stay?”
Ohno placed the bowl on the bedside table, “Not for long, but Kazu and I will visit you every now and then so–”
“So that’s how it is then.”
All of a sudden, he forcefully removed the IVs infused in his hand in which Ohno tried to stop him, “Jun, please!”
Jun struggled but was stopped by series of nurses called by Nino. One of the nurses injected a dosage of sedative, inducing him to sleep when he didn’t calm down.
Nino went to his lover and clutched him protectively; he knew that his hunch was correct.
If this continues, will Satoshi go back to him?
“Satoshi…”
Shifting the position, it was Ohno’s turn to hold him this time, “Don’t worry. I’m sure he’ll be fine. I’ll find a way for him to understand. I won’t let him get us separated again.”
Nino should be glad but no, he wasn’t. His plan of letting Jun understand is merely a wind incapable to grasp by anyone. Even so, he wanted to trust his words no matter what.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I love you, Jun. Don’t forget that.

Those words sealing his promise for his boyfriend to always be by his side continues to slowly lose its importance for some reason.

Was it because his return of those said feelings wasn't the same in his dream or how it used to be?

Or was it because of Nino's kiss?

Ohno touched his lips. Even if it's already a while, he can still feel it.

The warmth.

The care.

Everything.

He felt bad, not being able to say goodbye properly like he promised to himself. And what's worse is that Nino doesn't know that he is Satoko.

He wanted to tell him everything.

Sighing whilst watching the view outside the window, the door squeaked open, revealing Jun with a tray filled with his dinner being carried to him.

"Thank you."

Jun placed the tray on top of Ohno's lap carefully and unwrap the food so that he can eat already. Afterwards, he gave a plate of sliced apples, removing the finished dinner.

"The doctor said you just overworked today but he said you can go tomorrow afternoon. I have work but I'll take you home as soon as I'm done. Take plenty of rest from now on."

The tanned man nodded with a grimace. Then out of the blue he asked him, "Do you happen to play any musical instrument like a piano?"

The younger snorted, taking a slice from Ohno's plate, "Of course not, I wasn't really good with pianos. Barely touched a guitar either. Why?"

He shook his head, his smile hiding the suspicion currently rising from his gut, "Nothing, it's just that I saw a kid passing by outside, with a toy piano in his hands. I just thought it may be fun to learn to play 'em."

Absent-mindedly eating the fruit, he inquinsitively thinks. Jun's answer means that he doesn't know anything related to piano nor the melody he unknowingly played; however, Nino knew. Why does he know the rest of the song? What's going on? It doesn't make sense at all.

The headache strikes again but trying to hum the melody in his head, the pain is eased.

Nino, who are you and what exactly are you in my life?

--------------------

Ohno opened his eyes slowly. It's already noon. He was alone. He dreamily watched the ceiling. Jun told him last night that he'll leave for work early so that he can fetch him on time and there's also a surprise that awaits for him once they get home. He felt excited. He was beaming so wide, he's unable to sleep sooner; not until Jun went beside him on the bed to caress him to sleep. It was always sweet of him to do such a thing but it wasn't really the same as before.

Ever since he had met Nino.

When he was thinking about stretching, he felt someone else's hand wrapped around his right. That's odd, Jun should be gone by now. When he shifted his eyes to his right, he almost screamed the man's name in a deep voice. He fixed his wig through his left hand and coughed lightly to speak properly in a female tone as Satoko. Squeezing his hand signaling him to wake up, Ohno felt that spark again, together with the same familiar of warmth.

Just like in the dream.

"Nino..." she whispered, trying to wiggle her hand out of his clasp.

She heard him mumble, "Too early, Oh-chan..."

Oh-chan?

Nino blinked his eyes slowly then lifted his head swiftly, realizing what he had just said in his nap.

"Uh... S-Sorry, you were still asleep when I came in an hour ago. How are you feeling?"

She gave bitter smile, "Better than yesterday, I guess."

Satoko slowly slid
es her hand from his grasp causing Nino to blush. He got himself carried away with that.

"Where's Jun?" he said, rubbing his eyes.

"Work. He'll come to get me later." She continued scowlingly, "Nino, you shouldn't be here, what if he comes back?"

"Don't worry, you'll be here before he returns."

He needs to confirm something.

She stuttered in confusion, "I-I'll be here? What are you talking about?"

Nino stood, "You've taken a long rest right? There's a place we need to go to."

Satoko felt half-hearted on going with him at first. Not only because of Jun, but also of the things she may discover if she's with him.

More or less, there's a missing piece in this puzzle of theirs.

She wants to find that piece.

Satoko finally nodded in response.

------------------------

They quickly boarded a taxi and Nino instructed the driver to go to the carnival. He can see her face full of so many questions but he can't answer them. Not until they're there.

There were a few people at this time which was a rare thing for him to experience but he's grateful that it's a good timing. Without wasting any time, he led her inside one of the carts of the grand Ferris wheel. He went outside first to instruct the operator to let their cart stay on top for 2-3 minutes, promising the man by giving an extra fee, then stepped back inside. Closing the door, he looked at her directly, "Who are you?"

The ride finally begins.

"What are you saying? I'm Satoko--"

"You don't need to hide it from me; I know you're not...Satoko."

Silence. Satoko didn't know how to get out of this. She wanted to tell him but to think it will be in this kind of situation. If only the windows of the cart can be opened. She needed to breathe or better yet, run away from him now. But...it can't be helped.

She sighed in defeat and looked at the scenery (they were almost at the top), , "How did you know?"

"Frankly, I asked a nurse at the hospital how were you doing and I confirmed the reason on why she was referring to you as a 'he'." He added with a smirk, "I was suppose to check it myself but I'll just believe her."

She feels irritated regarding on what he was about to do to her.

Pervert.

She crossed her arms, not even bothering to return her voice to the usual, "So, what are you going to do?"

He shrugged, tapping his fingers lightly to a certain beat on his lap, "Nothing in particular. But it kind of proves that I am more attracted to men after all. And I thought I was beginning to like a woman--"

"Like?"

"Yeah, I like you Satoko...or whatever your real name is."

"Um, this is..." she trailed off, her body unable to move. This was too fast for her to comprehend.

Nino caught her hands, "You don't have to say anything. I just wanted to say it and I'll say it again, I like you so much."

The ride stopped. Their cart was on top.

Satoko averted her eyes to the view outside. She gasped in awe. Next, a flashback. It was the same as that dream again, only clearer.

The breathtaking scenery.

And that one person who had made it all happen.

His long an slender hands were held with chubby ones, which he found to be cute.

He eyed the man in front of him closely.

The once obscure figure slowly becomes distinct.

It's Nino!

"Y-you..."

"What?"

"D-did you take someone here before as well?"

"Well yeah. My most important person of my life. Satoshi."

Satoshi.

Oh-chan.

"What was his full name?"

"Ohno Satoshi."

Another stop. The ride was over.

As the cart returned to the ground level, Satoko went out immediately, with Nino catching up behind her.

It made sense, all of it. Still, Ohno can't remember anything about him. No matter from what angle he would look at, Ohno Satoshi was the love of Ninomiya Kazunari's life.

He was the love of Nino's life.

Remembering that event felt so heavy in his heart. It's as if forgetting such a moment was the biggest mistake of his entire life.

But why he was with Jun all this time?

"Satoko-chan!"

"I need to go back now. Jun will be mad if he finds out about this. I'm sorry."

"How did you know that song?"

"Song?"

"The one you played the other day."

"I...I don't know. I don't remember..." Satoko's replied in a hoarse voice, altering to the natural male tone.

Nino stood there motionless as Satoko ran away from him. He says 'Remember'. And that voice. He knows it no matter how long he hadn't heard it for what seem like ages.

Could it be...?

No way. Everyone knew that it was Ohno who died in the accident. If he was alive, anyone can spot him. Unless... Jun.

He sprinted to the direction of the bakeshop. The man should know Satoko...no, Satoshi's address!

He called Aiba on the phone as soon as he rode a taxi. "Aiba, Satoshi's alive!"

Aiba yawned from the other line, "Nino, don't say things when you don't mean them--"

"Shut up and listen to me! Satoshi's alive!"

The other line sounded attentive from his statement, "H-how?"

"I can't say the exact details but I do have a hunch. It's Jun."

"Jun-pon? No way..."

"Frankly, I don't want to believe it either. Inform Sho-kun about this too." he settled, closing his phone.

--------------------

Jun and Ohno went home together late in the evening already. Although the younger went somewhere first so he was alone at the house, waiting. Ohno changed to his usual clothes and inspected their room. Nothing out of the ordinary. Same goes for every part of this house.

Jun must have hidden something! He must know about Nino and him!

He went down the stairs in frustration.

Suddenly, he heard his stomp on a step quite differently. He always thought that it must've been built like that but now, it seemed suspicious. Then, he saw a very small opening forcing him to open it. He was flabbergasted to see nothing but an empty space. He was about to bring it back when he saw a small object at the farthest corner, glimmering as a small light accidentally shone upon it. He took it out, revealing a ring.

Looking at it closely, it was silver, series of letters engrave at the back. It read, Kazu.

Kazu...Kazunari?

"Satoshi!"

He was startled when he heard his name, causing the ring to slide from his hold. The ring rolled down the stairs and landed to the wooded floor of the living room with a rattling sound.

He recognized its resonance.

Headache strikes him and this time, it was much more painful. Later, series of scenes passed in his mind. It's like time going backwards.

His good friends named Aiba and Sho.

Jun...the one who was him ever since. They were best of friends...a family.

And lastly, his memories with Nino.

Their first meeting. Their confession. Their first date. Their first kiss. Their promise of love.

Subsequently, the accident. The ring's sound echoing in his ears while whispering his lover's name.

Nino.

The puzzle has been put together with the missing piece finally retrieved.

The agony then faded away. Ohno quickly picked the ring and held it tightly. He felt Jun coming inside.

"I was outside calling you, didn't you hear? What are you doing there dazing out?"

He turned to him with a smile. "Nothing. Why were you out?"

Jun presented him the things he had brought behind him, "Here. I bought you drawing utensils, paint, canvas...and a fishing rod!"

"Jun..." The older mumbled, tracing the items daintily.

"It took a while but here it is. I hope this is okay." he said, scratching his cheek.

Why Jun? Why did you take all my memories away from me for almost 2 years?

"Thank you, Jun...you shouldn't have...I..." he replied, hiding his hands on his back, placing the ring inside his back pocket.

"If it makes you happy, I'll do it for you. That alone makes me happy as well."

Jun closed on him for a kiss, "I love you."

A tear rolled down Ohno's cheek.

He was crying and he doesn't know the exact reason.

He remembers everything.

Nino...he must go to Nino.

Unfortunately, after everything, he can' t leave Jun like this.

What do I do?

-------------------------------------

Jun fell fast asleep on the sofa. Ohno simply watched him sleep. After a few minutes of contemplation, he gave him a peck on the forehead and went out.

Just outside, he saw the person he wanted to see.

"Nino."

Nino's eyes were getting teary seeing the man in front of him.His eyes feel like deceiving him but this is real. He confirms, taking a step forward, "S-Satoshi?"

Ohno could only nod, his tears unable to hold anymore. As he took a step as well, Nino was already in his arms. He held him tightly, missing the affection he hadn't felt from the time when the accident took place.

"It is...you...Satoshi!" the gamer answered in between sobs.

Their embrace undergone for a long time without saying anything further. They both have a lot of questions but they can be answered later. What's important is that Ohno is alive and they can be together again.

"Ohno-san." Jun uttered gravely, having woke up from slumber currently seeing the two.

Ohno broke the hug but he didn't let go of Nino's hand.

"You're not going to leave me, are you?"

Author's notes: Hi guys! Sorry for the late update m(_ _)m I've just been going out and I'm tired doing chores and I'm worried about some work-related stuff next week >.< Maybe I should do the "close crawl" to get inspired a bit more (If you've watched Last Hope, you know what I'm talking about, right? //winks)

I'm reblogging a lot of Ohmiya on tumblr; especially the one from last night's Shiyagare where you could hear Nino whispering to Ohno about the onsen they went together <33

Oh yeah, if you think that there are familiar stuffs you may read here, I was inspired to incorporate them from the recent news about them. For example, Aiba giving Sho a glass as a gift for his birthday. =">

Enough of my ramblings... Here you go~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ohno didn't speak to Jun after what happened that night. He was mad at him for being all protective that he was but he's madder at the fact that he didn't want him to see Nino.
Why would he say such pointless things, they are just friends!
Sure, he's attracted to him at one point or another and the way he caressed the young man at that time to get himself together felt like it has always been the natural thing and more but still, it's stupid!
He held his head. It started aching last night and it continues again this morning.
There was a dead air surrounding them as they ate their usual breakfast. It felt heavy but there's no reason to lighten up. Jun was the first to finish, standing up, setting his plates on the sink for Ohno to wash later (it's his chore since he's the one who cooks their food), then going towards his boyfriend's form.
He was still eating silently, not even taking a glance ever since he got up.
Jun tried to peck a kiss on his cheek but he moved his head away. "I'll be home as early as I can. I know you're mad but I'm serious; today's the day you quit. I'll be going then."
After closing the door with a soft click, one of Ohno's tears escaped from his eyes. He wiped it at once; now's not the time to cry. Even if he'll go back to his usual days after today, he'll be okay. He made good memories working. He had interacted with various people. And from there, he made a great friend at the very least.
A special one at that.
He needs to settle his fault for what had occurred last night. How he wished that Nino would stop by the bakery today before everything ends.
---------------------------
"I know I've been working here for just a short time, I really appreciate that you accepted me. Unfortunately, I have to quit."
The old man frowned, "Is there a particular reason?"
Satoko bit her lip, "That's..."
"It's because of me ojisan. For all the trouble I would cause for your shop, I am sorry."
Nino.
Satoko shook her head, contradicting what he said, "Uh, no! It's just that..."
The storekeeper exhaled noisily, not caring whoever’s at fault and understanding a bit from the tension oozing from the two, "Alright. I won't ask anything. Why don't you go out with Ninomiya-san for today? I'll take care of the rest."
"But it's my last day, I should help you--"
He cut her sentence with a chuckle, "Don't worry Satoko-chan. I'll just try to convince one of my nieces to accompany me here. And oh yes, take this."
Satoko held the envelope close to her chest. The kindness she received, it was all too much. She was forever grateful. She stood and bowed then followed Nino who went ahead of her.
Nino remarked, looking at Satoko then to the man, who had already went inside, “It may not look like it but I’m sure he has intuited something.”
“I think so too. You will still buy cream puffs here right?”
“Probably not every day like the last time but don’t worry, I won’t forget.”
Taking a last look of the shop, they resumed to stroll. Placing the envelope in her purse she asked, "How about a treat?"
"If you want; you beat me too it anyway," he answered, wearing a big grin.
"And you're not going to oppose?" She was surprised at him being okay with it.
"Why would I? Besides, I didn't bring much money."
She can only conclude his attitude with one word. This guy was not only a gamer. He’s also a…
"Cheapskate."
------------------------
Once she had treated him some brunch, they trudge along the pavement until they halted into an abandoned structure. She squinted her eyes, “I've never been to this place before."
"Well, me too. But I heard that this part here was a music room of an Alma mater."
"What happened?"
"Earthquake. The students were evacuated safely but the rest were washed away by the tsunami or burned by the fire that sparked from the electric current. It was a miracle that this piano is still in one piece." Nino answered, tapping the grand piano whilst playing the music rack.
"Why did they leave it here then?"
"The people thought that maybe it will remind them they should always stand strong whenever a calamity comes, just like this piano. I think they're planning to construct a music school."
Satoko slowly inspected the musical instrument and gazed at Nino who was trying to open the lid and set it with a lid prop. “About last night Nino, I’m sorry.”
“Why are you sorry? It’s my fault that Jun-kun forced you to quit. I mean…he saw us in that position, which I should be apologizing to you actually.”
She wanted to retort ‘It’s okay’, but held back. It may feel quite awkward; it’s pretty much close to a love confession.
Ah, what are you thinking? Snap out of it!
Her silence made him continue, “I’ll figure something out, you’ll see; everything will be back to normal again for you two.”
Satoko sat and stared in front of the piano's keys, “You don’t need to go that far. This is a problem between Jun and I. I really appreciate everything up to now Nino, thank you.”
She pressed on one key. Then as if her hand had a mind of its own, she played a short melody. Nino looked up, gawking in disbelief.
That melody just now...no way.
She pressed the wrong key and snickered in embarrassment, "Ah, that wasn't right."
Nino held one of her wrists before they even land on the piano's keys, "What did you play just now?"
"I-I don't know. I just felt like playing something so I simply pressed random keys. It's no--"
"That wasn't just random! How do you--?"
How do you know that song? I composed it a few years ago. Satoshi would always play that intro and ending up failing at the last part which makes me amused always and I'd try hard to teach him one more time.
“How did I what?”
Instead of saying his question and the rest of his overflowing thoughts out loud, he swiftly sat beside Satoko and stretched both of his hands. Afterwards, he played the intro, slowly. Then he hummed with the music. It's been a long time since he played this thinking that it would make him miserable due to his lover's parting but now, he felt lighter.
After Nino finished the song, he fixed her eyes at Satoko. She had never been more beautiful. Those light brown pools filled with peacefulness and luster on how amazing he was (the latter part was just his assumption of course; he doesn't know what she's thinking). Next are her rosy cheeks, not noticing until now how chubby they were. Then his eyes landed on her lips. They were shiny red and puffy, begging to be kissed. His emotions are stirring, ready to burst at any minute.
Maybe this is what Satoshi wants...to make me happy with someone else, with him watching by my side.
It’s true that he’d patch up everything between the two (he was the reason anyway) but at this very moment, he felt like betraying his own feelings and the fact that what Jun was doing to Satoko was rash. Nino didn't restrain any longer; he'll forget that she has Jun.
He closed his lips on Satoko’s.
Satoko's eyes widened in surprise, confusion and panic. Still, she felt at ease of his warmth. She can't deny that she doesn't like it. However, a feeling of yearning was rising.
Suddenly, a headache.
She broke the kiss from him and held her head in agony. She had never felt this kind of pain ever before.
"Satoko-chan? What's wrong?"
"I-It hurts..." she groaned.
"I'll call someone okay? Hang in there!" he said, grabbing the cellphone in his pocket to call an ambulance.
It was too much that it's taking her energy. She closed her eyes tightly trying to shut out the pain.
The scene of her past dream appeared in her mind once more.
The person's hands wounded around his waist and whispered something to his ear. He can't hear the rest but he was able to perceive his last words in an inaudible whisper.
"I love you so much, Satoshi."
And with that, she passed out.
------------------------------
Jun ran as fast as he can at the hospital, from what Nino had told him. It was weird that he still had his number and at the same time he was a bit thankful about it. But despite all that, he's furious and scared that Satoko-- er, Satoshi is with him and he may be the one who caused all of this.
"Jun!"
"What the hell happened? Why is she with you? "
"Now’s not the time! Her head hurts and I don't know why. Does she have an illness?"
"N-none. I'll go talk to the doctor...I'll tell Satoko that you need to go."
Understanding his warning, he sighed in retreat, "Alright. Take care of her."
"You know well, that I will."
He smiled and walked out but stopped when Jun called him again.
“Thanks that you called me; however, I’m saying it again: stay away from her.”
Nino continued to head for the exit.
I know but seeing her condition, I can’t promise that Jun.
----------------------------
Just in time, the doctor came out of Ohno's room, "She..ah no-- He is okay now; suffered from a severe headache. If you don't mind me asking, does he have any previous head trauma?"
Jun roamed his eyes for any possible witnesses before he admitted, "Yes, he had amnesia due to an accident. Is there a possibility he'll start to remember things from now on?"
"If that is so, that maybe is the case. Headaches will be frequent sooner or later causing him to gain his lost memories. This is good news, am I right?" the specialist said in a cheerful tone.
No it isn’t. Definitely not.
The young man nodded and gave his thanks before going inside Satoshi’s whereabouts. It was a public hospital so there were a lot of patients inside a wide room. He saw his sleeping figure on the left far side, near a window. He was still in Satoko mode– it was a good thing he wasn’t required to change clothes or remove his wig regardless of what he really is. He took hold of his hands gently and clasped them.
Ohno opened his eyes, “J-jun…”
“Satoshi, are you okay?”
“N-nino… where is he?”
Jun frowned at his reply, “He left already.”
“I see. So he’s the one who called you huh?”
He can only nod even if he feels bitter acknowledging it, “He called me and told me what happened.”
Ohno could feel Jun’s hands gripping tighter. To avoid any more conflicts between them and so that Nino wouldn’t have to do anything, he professed by holding his hands this time, “Don’t worry, I’m fine…and I’ll stay at the house… like always, okay? I have received enough money to buy what I want so…you don’t have to treat Nino…miya-san like that okay?”
“Why do you care about him so much?”
“Eh, that’s not what I mean—”
“Satoshi…please. He is dangerous; he is sly and gets things his way.”
“Jun. I’m not doing this for Ninomiya-san but I’m doing it for you guys. I don’t want your bond slowly severing like this. And like I said,” he shifted his position from the bed to hug him, “I love you, Jun. Don’t forget that.”
-----------------------------------
Knock! Knock!
“Who is it?”
“It’s me, Nino!”
“It’s open!”
“Oh Nino! So…how was it?” Sho asked without looking at him as he enters their apartment, too busy polishing the crafted glass Aiba gave him for his birthday.
“How was what?”
He rolled his eyes thinking that as if his question has no obvious answer, “The other night? Satoko-chan? Did you take her to dinner or so?”
“Idiot, she has a boyfriend. It’s Jun.” he responded not bothering to tell that he did take her out but not for a dinner and how he was punched by Jun on the face when he saw them.
Sho stood to place the glass in the center of the living room – where Nino is sat – and rested beside the younger, “You saw Jun?”
“Yeah, why?”
Aiba popped his head out of the bedroom door, “Sho-chan saw him too but he told me about it like 2 weeks ago.”
“Really? I didn’t know that.”
“I forgot to tell Masaki about it.”
Nino glimpsed at his older friend in inquiry “Did he say anything when you two met?”
Sho’s brows formed a groove trying to recall, “Nothing much, it seems that he was trying to get away as soon as possible. It’s odd that he’s like that.”
His boyfriend yelled from the bedroom, “It’s like he’s hiding something isn’t it, Sho-chan?”
He nodded and clasped his hands in a thinking manner, “What could he possibly be hiding from us?”
Nino traveled his eyes from Sho to the glass he placed on the table formerly. He could see himself reflected on it and then an item inside it.
“Is that a ring?” he teased Sho, who was now blushing madly now that he had checked it closely.
Aiba went out of the bedroom eventually and bent down to see the gift he gave Sho for who knows how many times already with a smug, “Yes. Isn’t it awesome? But then again, it’s not as awesome as the real ones…like what we’re wearing right now? Ne, sho-chan?”
Sho looked down to the band of silver wrapped around his ring finger, exchanging affectionate smiles with Aiba.
Nino can purely smile. Not just for their bliss but also with a question that has been lingering in his mind ever since he and Satoshi were together.
If you were here, I wonder if you’ll give me a ring too...
Gushing over ohmiya at tumblr and my LJ is just full of it, see (not quite but still)? XD
Anyway, I'll simply go with 1 chapter per week update since connection sucks and writer's block exist...or the feeling that you have it all planned out and then you realize it shouldn't be. After this chapter, I'll try to pace things up so stay tuned! Enjoy reading the 5th chapter, everyone! ^_^\/
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Jun waited patiently while Ohno changed back to his usual set of clothes to think. He didn’t expect Nino to be there at this time; damn it all! He wasn’t cautious and that made him arrive to this predicament. He’ll definitely ask more questions if this continues.

Calm down Jun…you prepared yourself for this…so long as he doesn’t involve him and Ohno further with Nino…right?

Inhale.

Exhale.

Ohno then sat in front of him and explained softly, “Look, Nino–”

“It’s Ninomiya.”

He mentally rolled his eyes, “Nino-miya-san and I just met at the amusement park trying to find a lost boy’s parents; that’s it.”

He had to lie, otherwise he may stop him from going out again if he finds out that he had met Nino way before and is friends with him.

“Did…something happened afterwards?” the pale man asked uneasily.

He only tilted his head sideward, “Hmm, none that I could think of. Why?”

“Nothing.”

Ohno moved from his seat to his side, “Now that I answered you question, answer mine.”

Jun’s eyes seemed reserved as he told him, “Nino and I were good friends but I grew distant because he…tried to blame me on something.”

“Does that have to do with his boyfriend?”

He didn’t speak anymore.

Ohno gave up and cuddled him to ease his tensed form, “I see. You don’t have to tell me anything if you’re not ready. No matter what, I will always believe in Jun-kun. Ah, that reminds me, he has the same name as me…Satoshi.”

He froze a bit but he let himself melt under his hold; he loves it when his Satoshi becomes all comforting like this.

“Y-yeah. Just forget about it okay? Your names may be the same but the writing’s different.”

“Do you know about him?”

“Uh…a little. He wasn’t speaking much unlike him who’s a brat,” Jun concluded with a snort.

As Ohno tightened his arms around his boyfriend, curiosity instantly grew on him wanting to know about this Satoshi guy. Nino should have all the answers, not Jun.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Where are you taking me?”

He couldn’t hear the person’s voice, only his.

“This better not be one of your schemes again.”

It felt like he was talking to himself but he can feel the trust towards this person that he didn’t mind where this person’s hands would guide him to. His hands weren’t slender compared to his but they were warm and soft underneath his touch. Suddenly, they stepped into something that made them lose balance a bit.

“Woah, what was that? Where are we exactly? Spill it out!”

Still nothing. He wanted to hear this person’s voice. Next, he felt the blindfold being removed from his eyes. After blinking a few times, he gasped in awe.

“T-this is…amazing! You can see the whole Tokyo here!”

Both of them were inside a cart of the grand Ferris wheel, which is stopped on the top to be able to see the beauty of the city from above. Vivid colors of purplish-orange blankets the whole sky while the sun begins to set. It was rare to get an opportunity like this since it’s a public ride.

“This is the best birthday gift! Thank you so much!” he said, hugging the person who had done so much effort for him in joy.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jun noticed Ohno smiling like an idiot when they were eating there breakfast. Normally, he would all feel sleepy than the usual since today’s Monday. Is there something to be happy about at this early in the morning?

“Did you dream about fishes last night?”

“No…it was different this time. It’s a first that I dreamt of a person.”

“Who was it?” he probed in worry.

The older pouted his lips, trying to remember, “I’m not sure but this person took me to see Tokyo through the Ferris wheel. I can almost feel like I’ve been there.”

“Do you…recognize him in any way at all?”

He shook his head, “No. Moreover, I can only hear myself so I seriously don’t know. But I think that person is a guy. Anyway, I think it was us…maybe in the future or so. After all, we haven’t ridden it.”

Jun was thankful that he wasn’t suspecting anything about that dream but that scene felt so familiar. Still, he went along, “Don’t worry; we would be able to ride it someday.”

“I think someday isn’t an option, Jun.”

He scowled, “Why is that?”

“I told this person that it’s the best birthday gift so of course, it’ll happen on my birthdate!”

Shit, why didn’t he realize that? He knows that occasion. He suggested it to Nino back then.

“Crap, I’ll be late! You better go too, Jun-kun!”

Giving him an apologetic kiss for not seeing him off, he scurried upstairs to change and get to work as well. He wasn’t able to see the younger’s right fist closing tightly, shaking in anger.

He’s starting to remember. Nino…!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ohno couldn’t stop thinking about his dream all day long. How he wished to dream more about it hoping he would be able to hear his voice and see his face and simply tell him how his hands felt so…caring and loving.
No matter how he tries to convince himself that that person may be Jun, his heart and mind were different.

If it’s not Jun, then who is it?
The bakery shop owner snapped his fingers in front of Satoko, slightly bothered that she was daydreaming nonstop even if she was working as usual. “Are you alright Satoko-chan? Do you have a fever?”

She looked at the man and giggled, “I’m not sick. Sorry about that. I’ll go throw the garbage outside before I end my shift.”

The man raised a brow in doubt, “Are you sure?”

“Of course, I may be a girl but I can handle it. Besides, you can’t attend to them lately so I’ll gladly take responsibility.”

A grin appeared on his face, “Bless you Satoko-chan, thank you. It would really help.”

She began to get the garbage bags and carried it outside, “No problem!”

Placing her hands on her waist after closing the garbage bin she thought beforehand that doing this is better if she’s not dressed as Satoko.

Subsequently, a tiny stone hit him on the head but she didn’t flinch.

“Heh…You’re supposed to say ‘Ouch!’, you know.”

“We’re closing already.” Satoko said nonchalantly, not even looking at Nino.

Nino put his hands together and stretched them upwards, “Yeah, I guess I have to buy those cream puffs tomorrow. I was finishing the last stage of the latest Mario game that I didn’t notice the time.”

Satoko remarked, taking her apron off of her head, “Finally huh? You’ve been playing it ever since you visited here.”

Nino gave her a coy smirk because of her being observant, “You were watching me?”

She returned a pout, “No, not really.”

“Well, there are a lot of stages but it was practically easy.”

He took a step forward when she was about to walk back, “Satoko-chan…would you like to…go to the park with me?”

It took a minute to get his words through her head; she didn’t know how to respond at his invitation. She has a curfew to follow. “I…”

“Just for a while please?” Nino requested looking at him then back at the ground.

“A-alright. But just for a short time okay.” Perhaps it’s fine to return home a little late. Jun takes overtime every now and then.

“I’ll wait for you here then.”

Nino felt relieved and strangely flushed at the same time. He’ll strangle Aiba and Sho for this when he sees them.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Nino?”

Nino hummed as Satoko called his name as they strolled along the playground in the park.
“Why did you–”

“I don’t know myself too. I just feel like it. I’m stressed with work, you see. And I thought that maybe bringing you along may lessen it.”

Satoko averted her eyes at the night sky instead of him, blushing from his last statement. She knew she shouldn’t be enticed at any way at all but Nino’s ‘charm’ is certainly attracting her.

“What is your work exactly?”

He boasted with a smug, “Game developer and the best player at that.”

She laughed, “No wonder you’re stressed; though it’s amazing how you’re motivated to finish them. Playing games is one thing that keeps you going huh?”

“Well, that’s not the case. It’s him that keeps me going always.” He emphasized, stopping in front of a swing.

Satoko changed the topic avoiding him to be all melancholy again, “Get on the swing, I’ll push you!”

Nino complied with a smile and went to sit on the swing whilst Satoko went behind him and began to push gently. Both of them could only hear the sound of crickets behind the bushes. There weren’t passing cars anymore. The wind gusted smoothly, stillness completely covering the two people. The silence isn’t awkward, Nino discerns, even if they don’t know much each other.

Satoko was mysterious overall and he can’t force her to tell everything. The only fact he knows is that Jun is her boyfriend and other typical things. Suppose he should start talking about himself. He’s always been told that he easily opens up to people. And so he does.

When Nino started talking about memoirs of his life here and there, Satoko let him talk. His stories consist of his family, his work, his love for games, baseball and music (she was surprised at that last part) and his two friends who he names “Sho-kun” and “Aiba-shi”.

She added one more, “And Jun-kun?”

“Yeah, I call him J way back because he was just so cool. His looks, his good values and his passion on a lot of things made him become the splendid man he is today. We had a lot of good times together. You‘re very lucky to have him.”

“You really praise him a lot. But now…how did it come to be like this?” she queried another question, disappointment hinted to it.

“I blamed him once for Satoshi’s death. I’m not sure why but it had something to do with him calling Satoshi on the phone before the accident. My anger got the better of me. I tried to settle with him but from what you saw yesterday, it wasn’t much of reconciliation through and through.”

Pushing the swing one last time, she uttered the question she wanted to ask, “W-Who is Satoshi?”

Nino forced his swing to a full stop. Without looking back he answered, “We were together for so long. We had different personalities but we just clicked. He’s the one I treasure the most in the world. I love him so much. But because of that accident…”

He let himself fall from his seat and grabbed a pile of dirt on both of his hands, “…It’s my fault! If only back then I didn’t let him…if only I remembered…”

He threw the dirt in defeat and punched the ground, crying. Through his tears, he saw her kneeling in front of him, “It’s not your fault okay? I’m sure he doesn’t blame you. And no way would he want to see you suffering…and crying like this.”

Without thinking, Nino abruptly threw his arms around Satoko and resumed his sobs. She unknowingly stroked his back as if she has always been doing it to the man. The same goes for him, who has his head placed on the crook of his neck. Her smell, by some means, calms him: the scent of that bread smell (must have come from the bakery) and the sea.

Everything is so nostalgic.

He snuggled himself more to her.

Just like the times with Sato––

“What the hell are you doing Nino?”

Nino knew that enraged voice. The next thing he knew, he was dragged away from Satoko and a strong hit on his face. He could taste blood from Jun’s blow.

Satoko stopped Jun before he tries to punch him again. “Jun!”

“If you’re trying to forget him by averting your attention to Satoko then I won’t let you!”

“What? Satoko-chan and I are just friends!” he opposed, wiping the blood coming out from the corner of his lips.

“Friends? But you and Satoko just met yesterday.”

Seeing him getting agitated she stuttered to tell him the truth, “Jun…the truth is that I...”

He completed her sentence in a low, serious, tone, “You met him for some time now.”

“How did you know?”

“The owner told me. You haven’t arrived yet; I was worried so I went to the bakery where you’re working. He told me your whereabouts and…other things.”

“Jun, I’m sorry–”

“After tomorrow, tell him you'll quit.”

“Eh? I can’t do that, it’s only been 2 weeks at most–”

“I SAID QUIT YOUR JOB TO THAT BAKERY, YOU UNDERSTAND?”

Satoko felt mute, pursing her lips in a fine line. Her eyes are getting watery but she didn’t cry.

Seeing her being commanded harshly, Nino stood and requested Jun to calm down, his hand on his shoulder, “Jun, if this is about what you saw just now–”

The younger moved his hand away.

He glared back at him, eyes full of threat, “If you don’t want our friendship to be damage more than it is before, I suggest you to stay away from her.”

“But that doesn’t mean you have to let her quit her job–”

“Shut up. This is for her sake. Mind your own business.”

Jun hauled Satoko and went their way. She turned her head to see Nino’s face.

I’m so sorry.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Satoshi, it’s not what you think!”
Ohno kept on walking taking a turn towards the hallway for exit.
“Please, just listen!” He didn't think he would become jealous over such a trivial thing; it was him who was always jealous.
His boyfriend turned around with light-brown eyes filled with disappointment and grief and queried, “How long have you two been…like that?”
“That’s not the point Ohno-san, don’t misunderstand–”
“Answer me, Nino!” he shouted, only waiting for the right answer.
“It’s just a week but I am telling the truth, there’s nothing between us!”
“A week huh? And you wanted to go with him tonight for a drink?”
He raised his hands up in the air in frustration, “Yes! What’s so wrong about it? I always go out for drinks with my friends!”
“I’m an idiot. Of course, you won’t remember. You've been busy with a lot of things lately… Go ahead and enjoy your session with that friend of yours.”
Emphasizing on his last sentence, he opened and then slammed the door.
“Wait!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“Satoshi, wait!”

Nino tossed to his right side of the bed, his eyes blinking a few times to make out what the time is out of the lights clock emits.

It’s only 3am in the morning.

He pressed a pillow to his face and tried to lull himself again to sleep. That dream he had just now was the worst of all the dreams he had dreamt. It was the day that he had last seen him before that accident. If only he can turn back time… he would pull his lover’s wrists and hug him to avoid taking any more steps towards that door, say sorry and tell him how much he means to him.

Still, if only he wasn't stupid to actually forget their 5th anniversary together.

“I am really an idiot, Satoshi. I am sorry.” He murmured, a tear escaping from one of his eyes as he closed them.

---------------------------

Ohno woke up through the smell of eggs and bacon for breakfast. He stifled a yawn as he went outside of their room, “Morning, Jun-kun~”

“Morning, sleepyhead. You seemed exhausted for this week.” He said, one hand holding the pan cooking the bacon strips and the other for the scrambled eggs.

“Yeah, work’s tiring but if I want to buy the things that I want and help the house, it’s worth it.”

He turned the heat low and gazed at his form, “You really are serious about this. Look, Satoshi, I’m really sorry about the other night.”

Ohno waved his hand and shrugged, “No need to apologize. It’s over now.”

“I know but I feel really bad about it, making you cry like that. Since it’s the weekend, how about I make up to you today?”

“Eh?” he was looking at the paler man directly, confused.

“Let’s go to an amusement park today!”

“Jun, it’s okay really. We don’t have to–”

“Please?” he begged with the intent of being sorry.

He wants to make him happy, after all.

Ohno finally gave in, unable to resist, “Fine, if you say so.”

“After we eat, we’ll go within an hour.”

---------------------------

It is his second time to go to an amusement park and it still thrills him to be able to enjoy the same rides from before when Jun also took him here the first time, dressed as Satoko. This year, it looks like they added more attractions and both of them didn't think twice of trying the new rides in store for them.

Truth be told that he’s still uncomfortable around Jun ever since that night but going here with him somehow lifts the sadness and fear bit by bit, at least. Though, he wanted to talk to someone about it.

Nino’s face appeared in his mind.

He smacked his forehead as if trying to get rid of the said image.

“What’s the matter, Satoshi?”

He pretended fixing his wig, “Nothing, I think my wig feels unbalanced.”

“Sorry if I have to make you wear it again here since we’re in Tokyo.”

“It’s okay, I’m getting used to it. It’s really a good thing you bought me another pair of flats. I really can’t walk properly with heels!”

Jun laughed kissing his cheek. Ohno blushed slightly.

“I’ll go buy us some drinks, you wait here.”

As Jun ran towards a nearby snack house, Satoko sat on an unoccupied bench and waited. She began to observe the passersby and the scenery next. It was full of people and yet it looked so refreshing seeing families of various kinds to go together and just enjoy. Same thing applies for the couples too. Then, she looked up to see the large Ferris wheel considered as the main attraction of the park. The lights sparkle in rainbow colors and cute drawings displayed at the center. It must be nicer to be able to ride there. Actually, the lines for the Ferris wheel are long so it’s probably the only one he hadn't ridden yet. How she wished to ride it someday, to see the full view of Tokyo – the city that he rarely visits because of the danger it brings to him and Jun.

“Satoko-chan?”

“Oh… ah! What are you doing here?”
Right in front of him was Nino casually observing her dazing out.

“Is it okay if I sit beside you?”

“S-sure, I guess.” She complied moving near the far side of the bench hoping that Jun wouldn't return yet. She shouldn't talk with anyone here but he can't ignore Nino.

He asked and sat, “Is your boyfriend with you?”

Satoko nodded.

“I see, don’t worry, we can pretend we don’t know each other if he arrives.”

“T-That would be appreciated Nino, thanks.”

He joined her on gazing the scenery in front of them, “Judging from it though seems you are getting along well now.”

She bent her head in embarrassment, “Yes, it’s alright now I think.”

“Heh…just tell me if something comes up again okay?”

Satoko only smiled.

Nino takes it as a ‘yes’. Before calmness envelope the two, their attention subsequently focused on a young boy crying in the middle of the crowd. Without thinking twice, he went and knelt before the child, “What’s wrong? Are you lost?”

The child nodded and sobbed some more.

Satoko also followed suit and wiped his wet cheeks with her handkerchief, “Don’t cry, we’ll find your parents.” Soothing his back gently to calm him down, his tears then stopped flowing.

“I'm Nino, what’s your name?”

“Shuntarou.”

“Here.” Nino said holding out his hand filled with candies. “That’s my gift to you now you've stopped crying, Shutarou-kun. Alright then, let’s go find them.”

The boy grabbed the sweets, ate one of them, set the rest inside his pocket and held hands with Satoko and Nino.

They went from one attraction to another, letting the boy’s eyes travel to each person they would see, hoping that it would be his family, looking for him as well.

It was already sunset when they had found his mom and sister back to where they were originally– the bench facing the grand Ferris wheel and the rest of the park’s charms. Shuntarou let go of their hands and ran hurriedly to hug his mother and sister in apology of not going far again. His mother carried his child, her other hand holding his sister’s and thanked the two, “Thank you for bringing my son back. We looked around but to no avail. I am so happy that you two found him.”

“No worries. Shuntarou-kun, don’t leave your mom and sister next time okay? Stay close!” Nino advised him, ruffling his hair.

Shuntarou nodded against her mother’s chest and resumed on hugging her mother tightly.

“You’re good with kids.” Satoko spoke, while seeing Shuntarou’s family leave the park.

Nino shrugged and smiled, “Not really, my boyfriend was probably better. He’s caring as you are.”

“Is that so? Somehow that makes me happy.”

Hearing her words made him laugh.

She laughed with him next.

He rarely gets a laugh nowadays. She was one of the people that made him laugh since he lost Satoshi. Satoko is becoming… a special person for him.

A yell reached his ears that made both of them stop from laughing, “Satoko!”

Satoko turned her head to see his boyfriend, “Jun…”

Jun?

Curious as the name rang a bell, he turned to see the person she is running to. Then, it hit him.
“Matsumoto-san?”

Jun was as surprised as him, “N-nino.”

Nino gave him a light hug and shook his hands; he was too eager that he had finally seen him after all this time, “I-I… wow! It’s been a while, Jun! H-how…?”

Jun replied, his hands getting cold all of a sudden, “Me and…Satoko just went to the amusement part here in Tokyo. I moved out of the city years ago. W-what were you doing here?”

Oh. So Satoko’s boyfriend is Jun? He should be happy for Jun but…

“Uh, nothing, just passing time. Satoshi and I would come by every now and then back in the day. You remember those times right?”

…he felt saddened.

The younger only responded with a cracked smile.

He continued despite his inner contemplation, “We should go out for a meal Jun! Bring Satoko-chan with you too, he’s your girlfriend, am I right?”

Jun gripped one of Satoko’s wrists and pulled her to his side, declining his offer, “Maybe some other time, Nino. We’ll be going first then.”

He dragged Satoko with him to get as far as they can from Nino, who was standing there, bewildered at Jun’s actions.

---------------------

Jun kept on walking in fast pace until they were out of the park. He’s not stopping at any moment.

Ohno – now in his original voice – begged, “Jun…let go…”

He kept on dragging both of them continuously. In frustration, Ohno used his strength to release his wrist from his tight grasp. “I said let go! What is wrong with you? And isn’t that rude for you to be like that to Nino?”

“Since when did you call him Nino?”

“I— I just met him today, okay!? Sheesh!” he exclaimed. He knew he lied but it’s not the time for that at the moment. Not when Jun was acting all weird ever since he saw Nino previously.

“Well anyway, we have to go back now.” He said firmly and tried to grab his hand but Ohno didn’t allow it.

“Why are we heading home? Why did you leave Nino just like that? I noticed how happy he really is to see you. You and Nino must be good friends.”

Jun smirked in indifference, “Probably.”

“Probably?”

He offered Ohno his hand one more time, “Let’s go home. Then I’ll tell you everything. But you tell me how you met him earlier first.”

Accepting his offer, they went on their way.

Author's Note: Hey~ Firstly, thank you to all who are reading this story, you had boosted my confidence in writing this but I still have lots to work on. And who’s buying Calling/Breathless here? I was frustrated on which LE should I get but decided to get both! XD Too bad, they'll arrive on March but oh well. Expect more Ohmiya moments… and more of Jun’s possessiveness? (I still don’t know how I’ll work on Sho and Aiba) LOL

I wonder if there are Filipino Arashi fans here…I wanted to go on Friday for Arafes viewing (and sho-kun birthday bash?) but I don’t think I would be able to. //cries

And nino's ruining my bias list. Stahp Nino, Ohno-kun would get mad XDD (refers to all his recent magazine scans)

~~~~~~~~
Windows would creak every now and then caused by a breeze creeping its way inside Nino’s room as if comforting him from his current state.
The candle that was once out now had flickered its usual heat and light.
As sappy as it sounds, there certainly is a spark. He remembered having it with Satoshi as well before. He couldn’t forget the warmth that he momentarily felt as their hands touched.
“Satoshi…is Satoko the one? But…”
Another breeze passed him.
No answer.
Of course, it’s to be expected.
Rrring! Rrring!
Picking the cellphone in his pocket, he answered lazily, “What is it Aiba?”
“Hey Nino! Want to go for another drink?”
“What is it with you and your daily drinking sessions?”
“Nothing, it’s just that I want to talk to you about something this time.”
As Aiba’s voice sounded serious at the last statement, he took a wild guess while looking at his mini calendar on his bedside table, “Is it about how to plan for Sho-kun’s birthday?” Even if he doesn’t see his friend right now, he could see his cheeks heating up, making him laugh.
“Well, yes.”
“Okay then…to be honest, there’s something I want to talk to you about too.”
----------
It was almost 11 in the evening when Nino and Aiba met at a sushi bar in Ginza talking first about work and possible plans on how to surprise Sho on his birthday. Aiba was thinking on making a buffet for him at home but Nino objected thinking that taking a trip to Aiba’s hometown, Chiba, would be better instead.
He hugged him really tight, “That’s a good idea, Nino! I’ve never thought about that~”
“Of course you don’t! Besides, don’t thank me. Satoshi once suggested it–”
Aiba loosened his hug but didn’t let go yet. He patted his back gently, “It’s okay Nino, no need to pause.”
He’s not the only one who misses Ohno actually. His drinking sessions with him are the best memories he had with him. They would just sit in the counter, drink and just talk. He would usually talk a lot about Nino more and he would always observe the way his eyes would brighten even more. The same thing goes for him when he talks about Sho-chan. Now, he’s forcing Nino to fill the empty spot.
How can he be so selfish?
Still, he wanted to keep an eye on his longtime friend; it’s the least he could do for his drinking buddy and at the same time, a good friend…wherever he is right now.
Nino pushed Aiba from his grasp and shrugged, “No, it’s fine. He did suggest it though. He learned how Sho-kun loves seafood. From there, you can plan the rest. I’m sure he’ll be happy whatever you have in store for him.”
Aiba saw the pain in his eyes. He knows how he’s trying to be strong. He wanted to hug him again but Nino raised his glass, “Let’s cheers to that, Aiba-san!”
As the glasses collided with a clink, he only wished for Nino’s happiness with someone else other than Ohno-kun. He’s certain it something he would want for him. Which reminds him…
“Oh yeah Nino, you also want to talk to me about something, right?”
Nino’s fingers played with the tiny droplets forming outside of his glass, “It’s about a girl named Satoko.”
The older looked at him with eyes wide, “Man you’re fast! But… eh? Explain now!”
“Calm down. There’s nothing between us! She has a boyfriend.”
“Oh... Then why are you telling me this?”
He drank the last bit and gestured the bartender to give him another round, “It’s just that I felt something Aiba-san. I have no idea how to explain it. It’s because of that…I may have taken a liking to her.”
Like? How long have you seen each other?”
“2 days ago.”
Aiba stood from his seat, “2 days and you like her already? That’s unlike you. And she has a boyfriend for crying out loud!”
“I know. It’s weird that I like a girl but I can’t help it… I vowed to myself not to love anyone else. It will only be Satoshi…but…”
“But what?”
Nino looks at him with bewilderment reflected in his eyes, “Satoko is making me feel the same feelings I felt for Satoshi. I don’t know what to do with these feelings.”
-------------
Jun and Ohno were having their desert when the older confessed, “I looked for a job after you left.”
Shit.
The younger hit both of his palms on the table with such a force, scaring Ohno. “Why did you do that? I haven’t even said yes!”
He was looking down, avoiding his angry eyes. He doesn’t like it when he’s angry and it’s a rare kind. “I assumed you would say yes since I’ll dress as Satoko anyway.”
“That’s not the point! What if those people would see you? They can appear at a dubious time and place! What happens when they’ll take you away? What would I do, if I arrive here, knowing soon that you won’t return anymore? Answer me Ohno-san!”
What if he sees you? What do I do?
He’s fuming with so much anger; Ohno couldn’t help but let a few tears escape from his eyes. He didn’t think that Jun would get so mad. “I-I’m sorry Jun. P-please s-stop…”
Jun, realizing that he had gone overboard, went to hug his now shaking figure, “Sssh, I’m sorry.”
Don’t cry. Please…
He began to cry on his shirt. Jun just let him. He lingered a kiss on top of his head. He is angry and that’s a fact. He doesn’t want him to go outside.
He doesn’t want them to find out about him.
He doesn’t want him to remember.
If he does, he’ll leave him again.
Just like the last time.
Ohno is his. He’s not going to let him go this time.
Whatever it takes.
With that, he must do what he can to prevent what he has been trying to avoid for almost 2 years.
“Okay, you can work there but do return after your work okay? Curfew’s 9pm. Are we good?”
He’s still crying. Jun detached himself from him and gazed at him with a smile. He sniffed and stopped, then nodded. He wiped his tears from his chubby cheeks and kissed him again.
Jun took a mental note to ask for a 3-day leave this week to his boss later.
-------------
Nino decided to leave early again and headed to the bakeshop where Satoko works. He wanted to know what would be the progress of his feelings towards her. Aiba advised him to simply hang out with her and see how it goes. It isn’t a good thing because for one, she has a boyfriend and also, it would make him look like a stalker.
“Ah welcome– it’s you.”
“Yeah, it’s me again. I told you that I would always buy cream puffs for takeout and drink some tea right?”
“Yes. Yes you did.” She replied weakly. “I’ll tell him to get you the usual.”
After telling the owner, Satoko returned and wiped the tables left by the shop’s customers. It wasn’t much busy at the moment so he observed her do her work. There wasn’t much to say (she being cute in her outfit with a touch of the apron is a given anyway) except that…
“Did something happen?”
She turned her back from him and continued to wipe the tables from the far side, “Nothing. Why would you say that?”
“You seemed tired. And from your eyes, I can tell that you cried. Did you and your boyfriend fight?”
“It’s none of your business.”
“I know it isn’t. I’m just concerned. It will affect your work.”
“Thank you for your concern but I don’t need it. If it makes you better, I’ll check if your tea is ready.”
She didn’t look at him as she went back to counter to get the tea and brought it to him, “Your cream puffs will be done in a few minutes.”
Nino unknowingly grabbed her arm, “If you want to talk about it, I’ll listen anytime. So don’t be sad…whatever it is you’re going through right now.”
Satoko wanted to explode and just tell everything but she’ll give herself away. She can’t risk that.
She didn’t turn to see him; then again, she was thankful inside and left to assist the incoming customers.
----------------
Sho’s hands were full, carrying some groceries asked by Aiba before heading home. They weren’t really heavy so he decided to take a bus instead of a taxi. While nearing the bus stop, he happened to glance at the entrance of a convenience store where a familiar person exits.
To think that they’ll meet here; it’s been ages!
“Matsumoto-kun!”
The person called Matsumoto turned around and then his eyes showed a little panic. Sho ignored it and ran towards him, “How are you? Aiba-kun and I were wondering where you were all this time!”
“Uh, I’m just hanging around. You guys are just busy, that’s all.”
Sho responded with a laugh.
“So how are you and Aiba-kun?” he asked while trying to shake the nervousness from his chest.
“Still together. It’s been years since we saw each other… Have you heard about Ohno-kun?”
His face showed sadness, “Yes. Ninomiya-kun must have been wretched… H-how is he?”
Sho looked away, his face also showing the same expression, “He’s okay, I think. But it’s hard to move on, you know. It just happened so fast.”
“Yes, indeed. I wish that accident didn’t happen. Well then, see you.” The younger took a cap from his bag and wore it, then crossed the pedestrian lane leaving Sho behind.
“Wait Jun-kun!”
But he was gone. With a sigh, he resumed his pace.
--------
Jun’s hands were inside his pockets as he started to laugh alone.
"I wish that accident didn’t happen."
Screw that.
That accident had given him the opportunity to bring back the way it was for him and Ohno. Now, he’s living happily with him. He’ll never have to stay with that brat.
But he was grateful to that characteristic of his. It was because of him that Ohno met that accident. It was because of him that Ohno suffered.
It was because of him that Ohno left.
And now that Sho had seen him, he’ll really have to be careful this time around.
Genre : Romance, Drama/angst
Rating : PG (I think and probably it's temporary)
Pairing : Ohmiya
Disclaimer : Don't own anything. T_T
Word count: 1, 992
Summary: Nino loses Ohno in an accident. 3 years later, he met a mysterious woman named Satoko. As they become close, more things get in the way and within those lies a hidden truth...
Author's Note (this will be rather long, sorry): Hello again! Wrote the second chapter at the office (what the heck am I doing? XD) and well, the plot is definitely on the roll. Not sure on how many chapters this story would have though. I am happy to read all your comments. Thank you! <3 I’m still a novice in writing this kind of stuff (as compared to other ohmiya fanficcers out there) and I suck at giving a detailed kind but I’m really glad (but tomatoes are still welcome LOL) To be honest, the plot is quite obvious but well, it can’t be helped; they’ve been forming in my head for some time now. And I've been reading ohmiya fics with this kind of theme lately. Late apologies for not warning you about Jun’s character, he’s indeed possessive here, trying to make sure no one gets his Satoshi. As for Sho and Aiba, I’m thinking of slight Sakuraiba in the upcoming chapters if I have the chance. The places here by the way are legit and I’m trying to make it as close to reality as possible but I’m not sure. *laughs* Finally, I hope no one is confused on how I portray Satoko and Satoshi here (do tell me if you are). And forgive me if there are spelling/grammar mistake... Anyway, here it is~
~~~~~~
“This is sooo delicious!”

Jun blushed and smiled in embarrassment, “Thank you Satoshi, I've made it especially for you.”

“You don’t have to; even the simple meals you do are already good. No need to push yourself on going far as to buy recipes for something like this.” he said, munching the garlic bread, then taking another serving of his ‘special’ pasta.

The younger chuckled and continued to eat as well. After taking a sip of mango juice he asked him, “So…where did you go today?”

Ohno almost choked but he made sure not to show it. He needed to make a lie and fast.

“Uh...I went to Yamate-cho and just roamed around as always.”

He asked another, eyes not meeting his, “Did you happen to meet anyone?”

He grabbed another bread to hide his uneasiness; thankfully he’s not looking, “Not really.”

“I see.”

Then the heavy atmosphere went back to normal.
----------
When he made sure that Jun was already asleep, he began to wriggle out of his hold. It took a few minutes to shift his position from such to turn away from his lean body without waking him up and hugging him again. Gazing at the moon peeking behind the clouds from their window, his mind began to drift once more.

Today is weird. Even if he tries to push it down, it just returns.

That’s the reason why he lied to Jun which is kind of rare. Or better yet, it’s the first.

His questions bother him to no end. It occurs every night, you see. It’s like he is watching his every move. Slowly and slowly, he’s beginning to think that he’s a prisoner in their home.

“J-just that those people I talked to you about from before may find you.”

Those words echoed yet again.

It’s always the same reason. He’s tired of hearing it but he asks ‘why’ anyway.

According to Jun, those people were trying to get them separated. They even tortured Jun just to get the very thought into his head and sent him to a faraway place. Ohno was told that he tried to escape by driving to where he was being sent but met a near-death accident in the process. Miraculously, Ohno survived it and Jun managed to escape together with him.

It was brief but that’s how detailed Jun can explain it. Ohno vaguely remembers but he doesn’t argue.

All he was able to retain is how fast he drove and then a sudden crash sending his vehicle up in the air then came down with a hit and it was black.

But before that… he whispered something.

And then, a rattling metal.

He didn’t know what those words were, neither what made that sound. He didn’t even bother to tell Jun about it.

He experiences dreams randomly about his family, fishes, Jun…and the accident. He wanted to hear those words clearly and see the source of that sound although to no avail. He would always open his eyes in shock, his face scorching with sweat.

He endures it so as not to cause worry for Jun and maybe…to discover something.

For 3 years, they’ve stayed hidden here in Kanazawa-ku Yokohama, away from outskirts of Tokyo. It isn’t really far but it isn’t near either. Besides, Jun owns a house here and what makes him happy is that it’s just a few walks away from the Nojima beach where he can at least enjoy scenery of the ocean that he loves so much.

He wanted to fish. He wanted to paint the waves crashing through the rocks near the shoreline. But he doesn’t have the necessary gear and painting supplies yet. He wishes to buy those, someday.

That very purpose lures him to sleep.
------------
“I’ll be going now!” Jun shouted from the front door, putting his shoes on.

Ohno, in his pajamas, slowly stepped out of the kitchen to see him off with a goofy grin, “Take care!”

“Anything you would like?”

A fishing rod. A Canvas. A palette. A set of brushes. Some paint.

It’s as if he had read his mind, “If you’re thinking about fishing or painting then not now. You’ll get darker than what you are today if you linger there.”

“But…”

“Not now Ohno-san. I still need to pay our rent this week.”

“I can always find a job. It’s unfair that you’re the only one working.”

The younger sighed, “I’m letting you go on the weekend because you begged me too with the condition of dressing up as Satoko but that’s how far it goes. You working in a convenience store or to any random place is extremely–”

“I can just be Satoko.”

“What?”

“I’ll be Satoko, I won’t let anyone know I’m Ohno Satoshi, promise. I’ll act carefully. ”

He was about to say something else but Ohno cut him off and continued, “It’ll be for my fishing rod and painting materials so you don’t have to buy one for me and then I’ll quit if you want.”

“I’ll think about it.”

With a peck on Ohno’s cheek, he was off.

If this is the only way he can go out freely and at the same time reach his simple goal, he’ll be Satoko. It’ll be for a short while anyway.

He couldn’t wait for Jun’s decision so he hurried off to take a bath and changed. He was glad that he found a pair of flats inside the house this early morning. He doesn’t care whoever owns it, so long as he can walk comfortably. He matched it with flare pants and blue blouse, topping it with a white coat. Putting on a light makeup to hide his masculine features, wearing the wig firmly and adding eyelashes and contacts to her eyes, he was ready to go out again as Satoko.
----------

Life in Osaka Prefecture will never change. Busy, busy, busy with work, work, and work.

At least that’s what Nino thinks as he rests his head on his desk during lunch hour. Developing games is hard but once you finish it, you’ll be amazed with the results. Hard work truly pays off.

Patience too, as Satoshi would say.

Too bad he’ll only be hearing a mere mental advice in his head and not the real one. He swivels his chair continuosly. What would he reward himself today?

Sleep.

“I don’t want to. Where would I rest?”

On the couch?

“Definitely not. I don’t have a pillow.”

You could sleep on my lap, like you always do.

Nino blinked his eyes a few times and stopped turning.

“As if I could do that.”

He took his coat and his belongings. He might as well take the rest of the day off and reward himself by finishing 5 more stages of his current video game made by one of their rival companies. However, seeing the ever flourished lilies beside his desk lamp, he remembered.

He said yesterday that he’ll visit Satoshi right?

Evil minions can be defeated in another day.
-----------
Satoko stepped down to the Shinyokohama station located in Nishi ward in order to find the bakeshop where she was once offered a bakery job. She was confident that she’ll be hired instantly as the owner grew fond of her visiting him to buy some bread and admire various paintings hanging on the shop’s walls.

In addition, he’s alone and has no one else but his customers going in and out of the bakeshop.

…And she grew to like the place because of a sense of familiarity that she can’t pinpoint as to where it roused exactly.

She only has a few bills left on her purse so she simply walked to Hongocho where the bakery is situated. Arriving there, she was met by the owner in a surprised smile. Behind him was another figure sitting coolly, taking a cup of tea, with a plate containing traces of chocolate cake on the side.

It’s him.

“Nino...miya.”
-----------

It was a good thing that he didn’t spill his tea.

Nino is now face-to-face with Satoko, the lady he had just met yesterday. Both of them were surprised as they never thought of seeing each other for the second time around. It’s a consecutive one too.

“Have you met each other?” the owner queried, also stunned.

“Ah yeah, just yesterday. Ne, Satoko-chan?” He answered, getting out of his dazed state.

She nodded in agreement.

The owner looked from Nino to Satoko, “I see. So, what brings you hear Satoko-chan?”

“I would like to take the offer from what you proposed before.”

“Really? That’s great! It’s about time that your boyfriend agrees to it.”

Her eyes shifted downwards, “I wouldn’t be so sure about that. I’ll probably work short term; it may not last long but I hope it will be alright.”

The man laughed, “Nonsense. You’ve been one of my customers and an amusing one too. If you quit early, be sure to visit regularly like you always do, okay?”

“Yes! Thanks so much!” she replied, eyes gleaming in excitement. Her eyes then spotted Nino and she gave a rattled smile.

“Well, you can start tomorrow, if you want. For now, I’ll leave you too alone. You guys have some catching up to do. And I’ll look forward to that painting Ninomiya-san.” The owner said, then went back to the kitchen.

Nino spoke first, “Take a seat, Satoko-chan.”

She nodded and took a seat in front of him.

“I didn’t know you go here.”

“Well, I just happened to be here after visiting his grave moments ago. It’s been a year I think when my boyfriend and I used to come by and buy some bread. They’re really scrumptious.”

“Yeah they are! You should taste their cream puffs, it’s so good~”

“Right, Cream puffs! I buy a dozen of them every time for take-out.” He said while examining her eyes. “You’re wearing contacts?”

“Yes I am. I kinda forgot to wear them yesterday.”

“No wonder. May I ask why?”

“For…fashion, I guess.” She laughed with a hint of nervousness. So he observed that she wasn’t wearing it yesterday. She’ll let this one slip; he’s the first one to notice at least.

“You know, they don’t suit you. Your hazel eyes are better.” He blurted out.

Shit Nino, what are you doing? Are you flirting with her? He thought, wishing to get out of his seat as soon as he can, scared of freaking Satoko out.
His compliment somewhat took her by surprise but she was touched inside, “Thank…you, Nino.”

Nino scratched his head, “It’s nothing. I mean it though. Isn’t it better if you don’t wear them?”

“I suppose so. It’s starting to hurt, anyways.”

Satoko tries to remove the contacts from her eyes by looking up and sliding the contact lens to the lower part of her eyes using her forefinger. As Nino thinks she may have difficulties, he helped her.

“Here, just continue looking up.”

He leaned and cupped her right cheek gently and pinched the lens between his thumb and forefinger.

Left eye.

Right eye.

As soon as he was finished, he immediately removed his hand from her cheek and sat down clumsily. He must be blushing like a teenager right now.

Satoko, on the other hand, seemed to be in the same state as him. Before any kind of awkwardness would occur, she muttered a ‘thank you’ and handed her right hand out to his direction, implying to give her contacts he had just removed.

“Oh! Yes, of course!”

As their hands touched – even for just a little bit – they knew something had sparked inside their hearts.

...

And both of them won’t admit it.

“Here are the cream puffs you ordered Ninomiya-kun!”

Nino stood and grabbed the paper bag and turned around to see Satoko before going out, “Later then.”

“Mm, later.”

Once Nino left, the owner eyed Satoko suspiciously, “Satoko-chan, why is your face red?”

Author's Note:Hi everyone! it's my first time writing an Ohmiya fic and I hope you'll have fun reading it~ The plot is on the works so let's see how it goes

~~~~~~~~~
Wearing his favorite shirt and jeans, Ninomiya Kazunari traveled his way from Tokyo to Yokohama to visit someone he holds dear. Stopping by to get a bouquet of lilies to a nearby flower shop, he walked for a few minutes and stood in front of a cemetery.
Today marks the third year of his loss.
His graveyard wasn't as far so he simply strolled along, reminiscing the memories the two of them shared together. It felt comforting for him but at the same time it hurts.
He feels as if his heart is going to break to tinier pieces than it was before.
In the end, the only thing he can do is remember or probably pretend he’s by his side: believing that his presence continues to live on – no worries though, he’s sane.
Arriving at his destination, he quickly gathered a pail of water to clean his boyfriend’s grave then placed the lilies neatly into the place for flowers together with some incense. He joined his palms and closed his eyes, praying for the peace of his soul and maybe the hope of reuniting with him in the next life.
“I wish you were here. I really miss you…”
Satoshi.
“Even after such a long time, I…” he whispered, tears rolling down his cheeks. Visiting him like this always makes him cry and as much as he would want to hold back the tears since Satoshi wouldn't want to see in such a state, he can’t do it.
So the tears simply kept on falling like rain.
----------
Sunset has begun, counting its way towards night time when he received a mail from his friends, Aiba and Sho, inviting him for a drink. Saying his goodbyes and the desire to visit him again soon, he left the graveyard in slow steps. He was deciding between taking a bus or a train to meet them. Stopping by a board showing a local map, his eyes studied the roads to see which is faster.
“Um, excuse me…” a hesitant voice made him turn.
“Do you know where the ride to Nishi-ward is?”
He was speechless.
She looks beautiful and well, she’s a typical girl but he had never seen her before here. She had hazel eyes that looked sleepy and chubby cheeks. She’s tanned but the color seemed fair. He went back to stare at her eyes.
There’s something about them that gave a tug to his heart.
atching himself with mouth slightly agape for a while now, he replied with almost a stutter, “I-I’m heading there too, in fact, we can wait for the ride together.”
She looked to the ground, her fingers fumbling a button of her brown coat, “My boyfriend doesn't want me to go near anyone.”
His heart fell down from what she said but ignored it and laughed, “Relax. We’re going in our separate ways anyways, trust me. And don’t worry; you’re not only one who has a boyfriend.”
“Oh I see. Where is he then?”
Not bothering to ask why he looks so composed (girls should at least be surprised, shouldn't they?) he answered her while looking at the sky, “He died. It’s been 3 years really.”
She bowed to him, “Ah I am deeply sorry for that.” There’s something in her eyes again that makes him all flustered – this is confusing.
“I-It’s okay, come on, it’s this way.”
------------
They were both on the train now. Unfortunately, they were standing as the seats are all occupied. He looked at the window; he sees her reflection, and then looks the other way.
Why does he suddenly feel like this?
Is Satoshi trying to imply something?
He slapped himself mentally – no! Didn't you hear? She has a boyfriend, idiot! Stop making me feel like this!
The fact that he’s attracted to a girl is already weird in itself. His heart belongs to only one and no one else: Satoshi.
So why?
He was too delved into thinking that he didn't notice the train grew crowded with people pushing him towards her.
hat blush is creeping its way back to his cheeks again.
Trying to breathe, he managed to inhale a part of her scent. She smelt of…
The sea.
It’s something that he’s not very fond of but had grown used to it to the point of addiction because of his Ohno. Preventing himself from smelling further he found a distraction: conversation.
“So…what’s your name? I’m Ninomiya by the way.”
“Ninomiya?”
“Yeah, but you can call me Nino. How about you?”
It took her a few seconds to reply. She bit her lips and then finally voiced out a name, “S-Satoko.”
“What a cute name.”
She smiled shyly, his heart skipping a beat.
“I never saw you here before. Are you travelling?”
“No, I just happened to pass here, that’s all.”
Nino nodded; he rarely finds people who just pass by this place by chance. That rare possibility somehow happened today.
Subsequently, the train stopped at the assigned station. “Ah! We’re here Satoko-chan.”
They both stepped out of the train with relief washing over Nino; it was hot inside but it was too hot.
It wasn't because of her, it‘s the people. Yes, the passengers in the train.
Satoko bowed one more time, “Thank you very much Nino. I’ll be going first then. See you around.” She smiled for the second time and walked away. Nino waves and observes her a bit more before disappearing to the crowd.
Her long brown hair sways gently side by side running with no posture at all and then she halts, and then walks. Her posture is quite slouched and the way she walks with her heels seemed awkward but he surmised that there could be women who are like that. Seeing her form one last time, he mumbled, “See you around too…Satoko-chan.”
----------------
“Tadaima!”
“Okaeri, you’re late.”
“Sorry to keep you waiting!” Satoko uttered, taking her heels off her feet without delay.
“It’s okay. Now go get changed.” The man who was younger than him said and patted Satoko’s head and gave her a set of clothes and added, “This wig should go too.”
Her voice then changed from a woman-like to a deeper one. “It’s alright; I understand why I should do this.”
He removed the wig from his head and carefully stuffed it inside a bag. “It’s tiring going out as Satoko but I’m happy to return to Jun-kun as Ohno Satoshi.”
The man called Jun beamed and pecked him on the cheek, “I’m glad. It’s just that…”
don’t want them to find you, not even a chance.
“Just what?”
“J-just that those people I talked to you about from before may find you.”
Satoshi only nodded and went to their room to change. Closing the door, he rubbed off the makeup and lipstick, removed the long eyelashes from his eyes and then, his current clothing. Afterwards, he flopped to the bed and heaved a sigh.
To be completely honest, he’s growing uncomfortable with it: dressing up as a girl every time he goes out of the house. But to prevent Jun from panicking – in which is somewhat scary – and seeing that worrisome face of his, he complied.
He continues to this for half a year now, after begging Jun to let him at least go outside.
His mind then thought of the man he met today, Nino. He was practically the first stranger he met and talked casually (it’s different from the usual people he always sees around). Actually, he had never been into Naka-ward here in Yokohama before but it’s as if his feet had a mind of its own and simply wandered around the place and apparently, he got lost.
He never thought of stepping into the place too because Jun forbids it for unexplained reasons aside from the one he talked about: certain people finding him.
He wonders briefly if Nino would do the same.
Wait, hold up.
What is he talking about?
He just met him a moment ago and yet…
It’s like he had met him from before.
He laughed at himself for such a thought. The only thing he can remember is his moments with Jun, his family and…
othing else.
He should be happy but it bothered him for years, even up to now. He didn't dare raise questions about his identity to his boyfriend.
He heard a knock. “You okay there Ohno-san? Are you sleeping again?”
He put on his shirt and jogging pants, “N-no of course not. I’m coming out.”
As Ohno came out of the room, he was welcomed by a sudden hug. “Is there something wrong?”
He felt Jun shake his head as he buried his face near his neck.
“No, just feel like it. I just want to confirm that you’re really here with me.”
“Why wouldn't I be Jun-kun? We've been together… always.”
He hugged him tighter, “I know that. Every hour, every minute and every second of the day.”
He doesn't know how to act those words. It always surprises him. He hugged back instead and heard him call out.
“Satoshi?”
“Hmm?”
“Don’t…don’t ever leave me okay? Promise me.”
Silence.
“I promise.”
Jun lifts his head and presses his lips on Ohno’s. Ohno shakes the doubts he had for today by responding to his action.
It is better than him being all tensed every single time he leaves him.
Jun takes the initiative to deepen their kiss.
Indeed, it is better…even if the outside world knows him as the girl, Satoko.
